editHello, I'm Philipnelson99. I wanted to let you know that one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Squawk— has been undone because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk. Thank you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

- Question: Can you confirm that you have read our conflict of interest guideline? What topics on Wikipedia would you edit if you are unblocked? Mz7 (talk) 20:02, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
Yes I've read it, and I want to edit a page to create a website's informative page. With their history etc.. Like YouTube. *NOT PROMOTIONAL* — Preceding unsigned comment added by SquawkOfficial (talk • contribs) 20:06, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I have to discourage you from doing that. As explained in our conflict of interest guideline, users with a conflict of interest will find it very difficult to write a neutral article about their own website, organization, etc. Even if you don't intend for it to be promotional, you might inadvertently over-embellish your company or leave out negative details that might be relevant. If your website is truly notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia, then someone else will write about it eventually. Mz7 (talk) 20:10, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
Your page
editI'm afraid your edits continue to be problematic. Firstly, you are overwriting the legitimate content that is already on the page Squawk. In order to introduce a brand new Wikipedia article, you need to follow the article creation process; see Wikipedia:Article wizard for more information. Secondly, although you state that your page is informative and not promotional, it looks quite promotional to me and not in the style of an encyclopedia. I suggest you avoid editing about your new website from here on out. In order for a topic to be notable enough for Wikipedia, it needs to have been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources, e.g. national newspapers, books, etc. It does not seem like your website has significant coverage. . You were warned about WP:COI and chose to ignore the warnings. Any admin is free to unblock you once you demonstrate you have read and will comply with that policy, and with your assurance you will avoid editing articles about Squawk. --Yamla (talk) 12:30, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
