Hello, can I ask how you found the information and interest to write about Count Cutelli? Thank you so much. Torikiki (talk) 23:26, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

A pie for you!

You did a wonderful job merging Count Gaetano Mazzaglia Cutelli into Count Cutelli, especially for a relatively new editor. Mergers are always fiddly, and your organised approach was ideal. So enjoy your pie! Gronk Oz (talk) 21:21, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Zudy

The article Zudy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't meet WP:CORPDEPTH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. power~enwiki (π, ν) 19:53, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Isingness. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Isingness. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 08:21, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Thank you very much, this will be quite useful! Isingness (talk) 22:12, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Aviapark

Specifically, what would you like additional references on? TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) 23:06, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi Tasty Poutine. The Location section would need sourcing, and not all the content used in the Major Retailers section appears in the source used (it only discusses the movie theatre). Other than that it appears very well written. I assume what you wrote is correct, but it would improve the page if the items were properly referenced. Isingness (talk) 23:14, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer granted

Hello Isingness. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. —usernamekiran(talk) 18:35, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

Just for the record, it was Oshwah who added you to the "New page reviewers" user group, not me. He must have forgotten to let you know on your talkpage. I have also subscribed you for the newsletter. Again, welcome to the cabal. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions/doubts to me or at Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers. I also suggest you to watchlist that talkpage. See you around :) —usernamekiran(talk) 18:40, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks very much! Looking forward to contributing. Isingness (talk) 20:27, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Isingness, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits, while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You do not have a unanimous agreement with your edit, so I suggest you discuss this on the article's talk page. Isingness (talk) 23:01, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Please provide constructive feedback

Hi Isingness, You seem to have a history of flagging purely objective facts written in strictly neutral terms, and supported by solid citations, as promotional puffery. While I'm sure this is done in good faith, please refrain from engaging in such vandalism, especially if the edits are fuelled by some ulterior motives. Though new to this platform, I intend on spending quite a few hours updating multiple biographical pages in the coming days, and while appreciating constructive and genuine feedback and editing, would rather not see my work be subject to instant vandalism. Many thanks.

I would suggest answering questions regarding your potential conflict of interest before leaving aggressive messages on other pages. Also, removing attempts to build a puffed up hagiography is not vandalism. I am willing to assume good faith here, but you clearly don't understand that Wikipedia is not a place to build ones reputation online. Isingness (talk) 06:14, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
It is also not anyone else's responsibility to teach you what Wikipedia is or is not. I would recommend reading WP:NPOV before attempting future edits. Isingness (talk) 06:16, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

Apologies if it came off as aggressive, and for not answering the question–the Wiki platform is still new to me, and accessing my 'talk' page is still unclear. No COI here at all, other than wanting to elaborate the biographies of prominent members of a specific community. Many more new pages and edits for others are currently in the making. And it is simply absolutely beyond me how stating purely objective facts about a person's job history (e.g. they gave X lecture or held Y position) could in any way shape or form be construed as hagiography or promotional material? Facts are facts, and can be distinguished from mere puffery language. At this point, I do believe in good faith on your behalf, but remain bewildered as to how wanting that hours of one's work not go to waste could be a COI. Best wishes.

User:Pluralism123 It is probably best to read up on Wikipdia's rules before editing. It is pretty much unheard of for someone to produce a piece as long as you did in the manner you did and be both a) "new" here and b) someone without a conflict of interest. I would recommend editing a few dozen other pages over the next few months before re-engaging with the Akhavan page. As it stands, it likely needs even more removals, as everything should be cited to WP:RS, not primary web bios that the page subject has control over. As for some specific policies and norms, you may want to read Wikipedia:RESUME, in addition to the RS link in the last sentence, as well as WP:NPOV. These lay the basic groundwork behind the site's writing. I would also read Wikipedia:Wikilawyering, which outlines the practice of trying to fit the rules to your own intentions, rather than following them more strictly. As for promo material, you have to be kidding here :) Phrases like "The relationship between emotion and reason, and the distance between the human rights "industry" and genuine empathy with victims, is a recurring theme in his scholarship. His approach is "profoundly shaped" early life experiences ... " is pretty much the definition of hagiographical. There are also details here that do not appear in the actual sources; the text you wrote adds flourishes or explanations that don't occur in the sources; something that only someone with a COI is likely to do. When it comes to the rule WP:COI it is very, very important to admit one if you do; it is against the Terms of Use and can lead to account banning if you do not. A lot of editors believe that they can get around that rule, but it isn't beneficial to try. As you can see, material that isn't properly done is removed anyways, and personal advocation tends to lead to escalating suspicion and often investigation. All simply because someone doesn't want to admit that they've tried to freshen up their profile. The timing is also suspicious, as early May is when many professors hire their Research Assistants to do various busy work for them, or professors themselves have more time following finals. So the time of year, plus the added details that aren't in the sources, plus the "hours of work" done before you claim you've ever tried to edit Wikipedia, plus the user name "Pluralism123" which is thematic of the McGill Law program, plus the arrival within months of the prior hagiography's removal, plus the lack of significant edits anywhere else--there is about a one in a million shot that your edits don't come from a COI. It would be much for preferable to get this out in the open, otherwise any further significantly problematic edits may require others to step in as I don't particularly want to volunteer much more of my time to this; other things to do, etc. Isingness (talk) 14:27, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
User:Pluralism123 - you cannot delete material from someone else's userpage. If you continue your disruptive editing, I will be seeking to discuss your behaviour at a noticeboard. Isingness (talk) 15:41, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:17, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited T. Denny Sanford, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National University (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Upside Travel

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Upside Travel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read this notice carefully.

You are receiving this notice because you recently edited one or more pages relating to blockchain or cryptocurrencies topics. You have not done anything wrong. We just want to alert you that "general" sanctions are authorized for certain types of edits to those pages.

A community decision has authorized the use of general sanctions for pages related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after the editor has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Kimberly Loaiza

Hi there. I'm Barkeep49, a sysop and new page patroller. I have declined your A7 of Kimberly Loaiza as she has a credible claim of significance. I really dislike us listing YouTube subscriber and viewer information and even started an RfC about it but despite all that, as the 5th most popular YouTuber in Mexico she's not eligible for speedy deletion. If you have any questions feel free to ping me or leave a message on my talk page. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 02:26, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

No problem, I appreciate the note! Isingness (talk) 03:06, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Mr. Steak (grills)

The article Mr. Steak (grills) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:ADVERT, sources are ad-like in nature. Only sources found otherwise are press releases and advertisements.

Maybe not the best; won't contest it :) Isingness (talk) 09:00, 17 October 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mr. Steak (disambiguation)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mr. Steak (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image File:MrSteak logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:MrSteak logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:48, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Just10

Hello Isingness. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Just10, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: coverage in RS and notable founder both indicate significance. Consider merging to founder's article per WP:ATD-M if not notable on its own. Thank you. SoWhy 08:11, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Angela Lauria

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Angela Lauria requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Lisa Weagle

How is Lisa being named a frist-team all-star at the Scotties in any way relevant to her status on Team Homan or context for her departure from the team? I understand people have strong emotions around this but it is ridiculous to edit Wikipedia based on those emotions. A202985 (talk) 18:45, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

Gosh darn, it just seems I'm making a lot of mistakes, but sure, you have to it. Don't really mind if you remove it! Isingness (talk) 09:43, 25 April 2020 (UTC)
