editHi Iris. Welcome to the English Wikipadia. I see you are already active in the Norwegian Wikipedia (Bokmål). I'm reasonably new in Wikipedia, and you wil get a more "official" welcome from some more senior Wikipedian in due course. You are not the only one to get here via your specific training institution, two others that I find are Tommy Hegerud and Ursini. I am interested in finding out what the acronyms that you use mean. Is EMBA something like an e-mail / internet based Master in Business Administration degree? What and where is BI/ESCP-EAP? Maybe Wikipedia can have an article on it, if it is not yet written under another name. It also interests me that it could be a "task" to join Wikipedia - what are you supposed to learn? Hi Seejyb. Thanks for your message. First some explanations: EMBA= Executive Master of Business Administration. BI= Norwegian School of Management, ESCP-EAP= European School of Management. BI's headquarter is in Oslo, and ESCP-EAP was founded in 1819 in Paris. It has today campuses in Turin, Berlin, London, Madrid in addition to Paris. The program is part time, 18 months long, for people working in management positions. We have many socalled core courses, and one of them is "Management of IT". Our professor, Espen Andersen, is a (very competent) true Wiki-fan, and one of our assignments is to learn how the Wikipedia works, and thereafter try to discuss how this use of technology can be useful in a business context. I must say that I'm intrigued of how quickly you get response just after a couple of hours effort. I've studied several users and articles, and people seem to be genuinely interested in improving the quality. I placed a short article on the Norwegian site yesterday, and today it has already had a "facelift" by one of the more experienced users. Amazing! So Seejyb, I might be using the Wikipedia more in the future, both as a user and as a contributor. Up until today, it has often been used by my kids, who have searched for information in connection with school projects. From now, we will definitely be 3 users in the family:-) br Iris
