editManaging a conflict of interest
editHello, Iregno8. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 14:56, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

edit As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Iregno8, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Iregno8|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. GSS 💬 10:08, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi GSS, please revert to my user page and advise.
- Thank you for disclosing your paid editing status. As per WP:Paid, you are requested to provide links on your Wikipedia user page to all active accounts at websites where you advertise paid Wikipedia-editing services e.g. your Upwork account etc. GSS 💬 11:03, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi GSS, I do not advertise Wikipedia editing services anywhere - I was asked to do this by a client who I provide PR services to Iregno8 (talk) 11:57, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- Are you sure you weren't hired through Peopleperhour.com or a similar platform? and do you have any connection with user Jon Smith (Sports Agent) (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)? GSS 💬 12:12, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
I use PPH to advertise PR services and my client Andrew K asked me if I could help with Wikipedia for his client - he provided me with the user page Jon Smith (Sports Agent) which was already set up before my involvement
- You need to disclose the link to your profile per WP:PAID. @Yunshui: is it possible to check if this user has any connection with user "Jon Smith (Sports Agent)"? Thank you. GSS 💬 12:35, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- Checkuser confirms that this account and Jon Smith (Sports Agent) are operated by the same person. Both are now indef-blocked, as there is a clear intent to try and avoid full disclosure here. Yunshui 雲水 06:36, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi Yunshui & GSS, I categorically deny creating Jon Smith (Sports Agent). I was passed the account details by Andrew K in order to complete the page. I logged into it initially and after being told that it was assumed that I was the subject, I created my own user page to avoid any confusion. I can send you proof via email Iregno8 (talk) 06:58, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:
Even if what you say is true, that is considered meatpuppetry. There are no grounds to lift the block, and I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:47, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
I would like to note that I am fully aware of the mistakes I have made which led to the blocking of my account. I would like to formally apologise for this as although there was no intention of fooling or manipulating Wikipedia it may be construed as that. I can confirm that Iregno8 is the only account I hold on here and my intentions are legitimate. I hope you acknowledge my frank apology and reinstate my account as soon as possible to allow me to continue editing. Thanks Iregno8 (talk) 09:32, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I'm sorry, but I cannot unblock you at this time. You might be eligible for the WP:Standard offer if you forgo editing or sockpuppetry for six months. Thanks, --Deep fried okra User talk:Deepfriedokra 09:59, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
