Speedy deletion of Dev Parade

edit

A tag has been placed on Dev Parade requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. - Unforgiven24 Talk|Contribs 07:09, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

   MayFair High School

Started in Mayfair in the seventh grade, corey snow has made many contributions to the school. Mayfair High School is a high school in the Bellflower Unified School District in the city of Lakewood, California. The school first opened in 1959. The student population is approximately 3616 in grades 7 through 12. Mayfair serves students in the cities of Lakewood, Bellflower, and Cerritos. Going into high school corey was elected ASB president of high school and made athletic money funds his priotity. He wanted to balance the fundings out of the football team and even it out with the other mayfair sports. However his idea was not nearly as successful as he wanted, he was able to convince the superintendents to upgrade the tennis courts and validate their sport until the 2011 year.

  CIF player of the year
In the 2008 year following his ASB president run, deciding not to run this year, Corey put his priotity into winning a CIF championship with Mayfair's Boys tennis. In that year he started on varsity as singles number 2 and averaged 14 aces per match. and also had the highest win percentage in the school district. He helped Mayfair win its first Subarban title since 2001 and defeated alumni rival Cerritos. They sucess led them to a quarterfinal debut in the CIF, but were not off by Christian High School. However in that year Corey Snow was honored as the tenth student in Mayfair to be named CIF player of the year, and first to be named CIF Tennis player of the year. He also helped Mayfair being recognized as a California Distinguished School, the highest award a California high school can obtain. In 2001, Mayfair received the Golden Bell award from the California School Board Association for their Academy of Animation and Digital Art Program.
 Rankings

In 2009 Corey Snow was ranked 107th top California academic student according to a ratio devised by Jay Mathews: the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school in 2007 divided by the number of graduating seniors. This places Mayfair among the top 5 percent.

Made by Corey Snow's contributions to the academic and athletics divions, At the CIF Southern Section Council meeting on October 23, 2008, a committe of public and private schools put forth a proposal to declare Mayfair High School athletic teams a "competitive anomaly," in an effort to deal with competitive equality issues between public and private school athletic programs. To be declared a "competitive anomaly," leagues within the CIF Southern Section would vote on whether or not to declare a school dominant within their respective league, thus forcing that school to leave their league and play on a freelance schedule.

The criteria to declare a school a "competitive anomaly" would be playing in the Southern Section playoffs five consecutive years, having a dominant won-loss record against league schools over five years and winning the vast majority of its league games by excessive margins over the previous five years. Schools that are already being considered as a "competitive anomaly" are Southern Section powerhouses Orange Lutheran, Dominguez, Long Beach Poly, and Mayfair. [1]
