Speedy deletion nomination of Davar Venus

edit

A tag has been placed on Davar Venus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. License tagging for File:Sepehr Tower.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sepehr Tower.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:06, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for File:FC_Taj_Tehran_logo_1945-1979.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:FC_Taj_Tehran_logo_1945-1979.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Inappropriate editing on the pege Tehran

edit

Hi, Dear user, thank you very much for being a lot in the page Tehran and correct many user's editing there and I adore your efforts, really appreciable. however if you're about to remove someone's editing, please leave sufficient reasons before, otherwise avoid to change rashly. Hence, I'm very kind with the article's rules. if you look accurately, you'll see that many pictures in the page Tehran are mine. Thank you for your consideration Milad Mosapoor (talk) 01:16, 02 April 2014 (GMT)

Milad Mosapoor! I know and I appreciate your contributions as well. I've even used some of your photographs in other articles or photo montages. However, in case of your recent photographs added to the article of Tehran, I'd believe they are not appropriate for the article. First, they have mainly focused on Tajrish neighborhood which is clearly not a representative of entire Tehran. Second, due to the traditional structure of streets, allies and building in that neighborhood, it kind of displays Tehran as a rural area. Third, the photos added to the page are not professional whatsoever. They seem to be taken by a mobile phone in a very inappropriate position. They do not present a general idea about the subject the section intends to introduce. Finally, they are not very informative about the topic which they are related to. I do not revert the recent changes you have made, but I ask you to do so and if you have access to the professional and informative photographs, please do replace them with the recent ones. Thank you FaraM 19:51, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi again, sorry I just saw your reply. Thank you very much for your comprehensive explanation, an honour for me. Yes, I agree, It probably seems like an old picture which represents information of a rural county as you mentioned not Tehran! Nevertheless, as you know Tajrish is an absorbed region into Tehran and generally has old look and it's different with new modernised districts of Tehran. Anyhow, I've changed descriptions for the pictures and replaced/removed something. Hence, Please take a glimpse into the article in case of adequate changes. I'm waiting for your reply! Milad Mosapoor (talk) 00:59, 06 April 2014 (GMT)

Dear Milad Mosapoor, you are right, Tajrish is incorporated into today's Tehran, however Tehran is not equal to Tajrish whatsoever. There are so many shopping malls, plazas or street shops in Tehran, including Bazaar, Jomhouri, Vali-asr, Vanak and so on. Among them, unlike what your recent added pictures are representing, only few of the them are old and traditional. You could add a picture from Tandis Shopping Center, Aseman Vanak, Boustan, Milad-e Noor, Goldis, Safavi, Paytakht, Eskan, or Mega Mall shopping centers or Vali-asr or Jomhouri, 7tir street shops which are more representing Tehran than the old rural area of Tajrish images. It looks like someone posted a picture of "Deh Vanak" and stated that it represents what Vanak Sq. or Vanak region looks like. If you are living outside of Iran, you might have seen how distorted thoughts and misconceptions are among western media and the public opinion about Iran and Tehran. Let's not fortify those thought by selecting non-representative, non-professional and biased pictures. Thanks. FaraM 21:54, 8 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Indeed, I live in Tehran but mainly reside in Tajrish and this is why I sent pictures more from this district. I agree your mentions, very true. I've removed one more image in case of appropriateness with today's Tehran, hence by your respect go to the article whether the remaining picture needs to remove. Also, thank you for your very inspiring picture added into the article. Milad Mosapoor (talk) 16:45, 14 April 2014 (GMT)

Economy of Iran

Hello,

just you know: there is no "freedom of panorama" in Iran. Concretely you'll need to upload this picture in the English Wikipedia. Ask the help desk if you need any further assistance. Regards, 67.87.50.54 (talk) 11:42, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi there again. I am the one who posted your montage on Iran's main page and tourism in Iran. There is nothing personal I can assure you but i am trying to get this article to WP:FA status and the requirements are very strict. 67.87.50.54 (talk) 13:08, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hello, There are the photographs of other buildings in that page too (e.g. the Tower of Central Bank of Iran). Also, even if there is no "freedom of panorama" in Iran, the building is constructed in the 1960s and according to the Copyright law of Iran, its term of copyright has expired years ago (after 30 years). Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:53, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Shahin: All other Iranian Football Clubs have this section on their article. Besides, it's not an "unnecessary information"!!! FaraM 15:57, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
if you have an extended article about that,it's unnecessary to add to main article. Shahin (talk) 15:58, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
please stop undo edits you don't liked. it's WP:EW and WP:3RR. Shahin (talk) 16:02, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Shahin: Thank you for your contribution. See this: List of Esteghlal F.C. honours, a more comprehensive and extensive seperate article about Esteghlal F.C. honours, however Runners up honors are still indicated on their article! FaraM 16:05, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
if something is wrong in other place it doesn't make it right in another place! if Esteghlal article have unnecessary information it's not ok to add those in Persepolis's or others.we must remove that not add it to other articles. Shahin (talk) 16:09, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Shahin: who says that you are right?! Besides, my revisions have some information other than the runners up honors of the club, you keep removing those information as well! if a semifinal stage for one managers is considered as an honor, it should be seen as an honor for other managers as well! there shouldn't be a double standard! FaraM 16:19, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

It may not have been your intention, but one of your edits, specifically one that you made on Persepolis F.C., may have introduced material that some consider controversial. Due to this, your edits may have been reverted. When adding material that may be controversial, it is good practice to first discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them, to gain consensus over whether or not to include the text, phrasing, etc. If you believe that the information you added was correct, please initiate that discussion. Thank you. Shahin (talk) 16:31, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

please consider Real Madrid CF#Honours ,FC Barcelona#Honours, Juventus_F.C.#Honours, Manchester_United_F.C.#Honours, FC_Bayern_Munich#Honours and so many other world class clubs for honor section as example not Esteghlal's article! Shahin (talk) 16:31, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @Shahin: Persepolis F.C. is not a world class club and therefore should not be compared with those clubs. Persepolis F.C. is part of Iranian Premier Football League which in turn is part of AFC and under AFC Champions League rules and regulations. Thus, since there is no unified standards in Wikipedia to how to organize the articles of football clubs, and as the general standards for Asian clubs (even their calendar) imposed by "AFC" is different from the ones set by "UEFA" for European clubs, Persepolis F.C. should be compared with other Asian football clubs and more specifically with other Iranian clubs, not compatible with European Club!!! Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

edit

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
