Proposed deletion of Templelands

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Templelands, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Templelands

edit

Hi Ipso-factually. Regarding Templelands, the proposed deletion notice has been removed, so the article does not currently face deletion. It does bear the {{notability}} tag, added by me, as at present it may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline. As the template states, the best way to establish notability is through multiple independent sources. I have an interest in James Craig and his work, so I'd like to know what sources link him to the house. If you can add these, then that would definitely establish notability, but without anything to back it up, its just an unsubstantiated claim, and could have been made up by anybody (not that I'm suggesting it was, but you see my point). Any problems, feel free to give me a shout. Regards, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 11:31, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

Hello Jonathan. Thanks. The only claim I can find is unsubstantiated - the recent sale details (Google "Templelands Dunbar" and there is a link to pdf to the Hunters website.) Anyway, I am going to do some digging - but probably not until I back to Edinburgh at the end of November and have a bit more time on my hands to go to the Library. Though I haven't tried RCAHMS online databases, so might head over there before too long! Thanks again Ipso-factually (talk) 07:21, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good, look forward to seeing what you turn up. Good luck, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 15:11, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
