Changes made to an FP candidacy in which you voted

Although this message concerns a current FPC, I would like to first disclaim that I am not canvassing votes (at least not intentionally).

Anyway, you opposed this nom on the grounds that it was not encyclopedic with respect to the Parthenon. I have since added the picture to ruins and Classical Greece, citing that the picture makes significant contributions to those articles. Several other users agree that it is especially relevant and powerful in this new context. If you like, please see for yourself. I would ask that you please revisit and review the FPC nom, consider the picture's enc. value in its new context, and update your vote to address this change.

The international reactions page on the coup in Thailand

The Pakistan statement does not have a working link to the Pakstian country page here on Wikipedia. Seems to be something wrong with the country/flag template? Tried to fix it, no luck :/ It links to "islamic Pakistan" instead of just Pakistan.

RE: Hello again. I made a temp fix for this problem by redirecting the non-existing "Islamic Pakistan" page to the correct Pakistan page. Sorry, but my knowledge about editing templates is far from good. In reality it does not exist :) Yet.

Cleanup Lebanon

Hi Iorek, Due to the heated atmosphere currently prevailing on the page, I would like to get your input on the need for cleanup. It seems that certain sections, especially "Initial reviews" and "Targets in civilian areas," have become particularly unwieldy, to that the extent there are several lines that are extremely repetetive in different sections, and many passages that I would argue are too detailed to be included in the main article, but which rather should remain (which is where I believe some of them were actually brought from) in the appropriate subarticles (Timeline, Military actions). I also feel that in some these cases the detail added leaned more to one side than another, but that is more of a secondary concern. The reason that I removed the section Will added was that the link supplied (and currently referenced) was to an archived article. If you could confirm that it says what he claims that would be fine, but I'm uncomfortable with the way it stands now (where it seems to be unreferenced). If you really loved the idea of Wikipedia, you wouldn't randomly go and change an article without reading through the archives and knowing what you are talking about. Show me something official that refers to House with the "M.D." You can't because all official literature refers to it as "House". Text on a DVD cover does not equal a name change. Once again, the last consensus reached was that it is no longer referred to with the "M.D." Just because the DVD case has something on it, does not make it the title of the show. You have shown no proof. This is because you have no proof. Saying there is text on a DVD case means that is the name of the show is such a huge fallacy that I can't believe you continue to rely on that. Also, IMDB is not run by the producers of the show nor Fox. It can also be modified by fans. Israel-Lebanon conflict

Thanks! Hopefully it will let us organize a summary of the randomly placed casualty information together in one place, while letting us keep the infobox pithy. The other thing I noticed was there seems to be a lot of talk about allegations of war crimes committed by both sides in the article, but it is also pretty spread out (mostly in the Targetting of civilians section). What do you think about adding a section titled something like "Allegations of War Crimes", where we could organize the accusations made against both sides, and list the types of war crimes they were alleged to have committed? I think such a section would help consolidate the information spread throughout the article, similar to how the Casualties section has. — George Saliba ^[talk] 01:24, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Good call. Afterall, I think the targetting of civilians is just one type of war crime. Just renaming this section, then cleaning up what is there (it can probably be cut down quite a bit), and adding other relevant information is probably a best bet. Image notes on Jennifer Morrison

In actuality, I think it would still be unfair to block someone on the first offence even if they are deliberately placing Wikipedia in legal jeopardy, as would be the case if they were deliberately adding an inappropriate image such as a House promotional image there. In truth, what I'm trying to do here is to come up with some wording that makes it clear to people that they are not to add such an image here. Every form of wording, including specifically noting "promotional images", has failed so far. I welcome suggestions for anything better. --Yamla 13:53, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

War title

Two things. A dash (-) in a war title does mean "between." HOWEVER, all of the sources that I mentioned at the RfC use Israel-Hezbollah war, exactly (or the variations: Israel-Hizballah war, Israel-Hezbollah conflict, etc.). Believe me, I have been Google searching all those. First of all, that is a bad example to prove a point. After searching Israel-Lebanon war, the words that I searched for are mixed up in the given text, and are not written as a name for any war. Same with the others. That is why it is important to compile sources. Furthermore, I dont understand your point at the RfC, as you mentioned that you dont believe between = -, considering that issue was not brought up there. You also talk about many sources saying "...between...". Yes, that is true, but I wrote what each source says verbatim, so I dont see your point there either. --Shamir1 03:55, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

You may recall User:Ryan4, who repeatedly tried to spam links to http://www.hirhome.com to various Wikipedia articles - you tackled him about it on his user talk page (User talk:Ryan4#Stop spamming). He appears to have learned nothing from the experience and has now brought a mediation case, singling me out for some reason. See Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2007-03-31 ChrisO‎. Given your previous intervention in the matter, I've added you as an involved party. My response is at Wikipedia talk:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2007-03-31 ChrisO#ChrisO. Naturally I think the whole thing's a waste of time and I'm encouraging the mediator to dump it on the grounds of Ryan4's bad faith, but it would be helpful if you could add a comment or two so that we can have a record of where things stand. basic bmx moves only?

I'm not really sure how talk pages work... but anyways, I think more "advanced" things like flairs should stay in the tricks list. I mean, frontflips are still on there, and I think more people can flair than frontflip. Flairs are a staple trick, and newer riders should be able to go on the freestyle page and find out what exactly a flair is. Some more confusing terms like truckdrivers vs busdrivers, half cabs vs full cabs, turndowns vs lookbacks, or tables vs inverts should be included on the page, because it can be hard to tell the tricks/terms apart.

I answered some misunderstandings on talk. Other than that issue, I would like to address others with you.

Write before you made this statement, you noted that some wars are called this, others that, and neither proves anything. (Finally, someone else says it.) There are no conventions set forth for this war, that is a totally different war. Yes it involved some of the same combatants but it was a totally different war. Also, it seems that you say your vote will go to whoever. Israel-Hezbollah war is this closest we have to consensus in the outside world. There will not be consensus here on Wikipedia, now or ever, I can assure you that. But the sources nonetheless have a voice, much louder than ours. You said you do not think "that the majority of people call it that." In that case, find a source. Please. I dont see why BBC would call it that when they survey the general public if they didnt see it as the most identifiable term. Of course, I am not going to even mention the other sources that I brought up--all very strong.

I am not trying to convince you, I ask that you take the sources into consideration. I dont appreciate that after all of the searching I have done, that people object for the reason that it is not what they personally would call it.
