Yes, I have a section on my page for things I'd like help on. Additionally, I'd like to know how to do page redirects (like, "rowlings redirects to this page j. k. rowlings"), and also some advice about how to find writing guidelines in Wikipedia? I'd like to edit some articles with foreign language components, and I remember there was this guideline I read about what format the foreign language phrases and notes (like pronunciation) should be written in. --Mistsrider (talk) 05:13, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

FLc is wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day! This greeting promotes WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Happy Valentine's Day, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
It works perfectly, but I am about 99% sure someone will come along and they will all be speedy deleted or taken to TFD, and all of your work now will be pointless. (That's our deletion system for ya.) jj137(talk)00:08, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
The reason is that the first two templates could easily be confused for stub templates, which they're not - they're Stub-Class assessment templates (only stub templates end with -stub, or have -stub as part of their names). The other two I've moved for uniformity - this is how they're usually named. Hope this doesn't cause you any concerns. Grutness...wha?00:44, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

JJ and I have agreed that we'll also have a private ESPN league that I will create. Just the four of us. Two leagues ain't hard to handle. I've done ESPN before. I can do it. HPJokerLeave me a message02:13, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Of course it's possible. I'm doing one right now. We can just join one and others will come naturally. We ain't the only people on SportsLine. I'd be delighted to quit the one i'm in soon and do one with you at 8:30. Whats your username on there? Are we going to do one at 8:30?r HPJokerLeave me a message03:12, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
That's not that bad (I have about 6000 articles that need copyediting). At least it will give you something to do. Oh yeah, you're mentioned in the newsletter coming out tomorrow. jj137(talk)01:45, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

The BoSox Barnstar
For your continued contributions to Boston Red Sox articles (assessed about 150 so far), I award you the BoSox Barnstar. jj137(talk)01:54, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
You deserved it. If I were you, I wouldn't be surprised if I got another barnstar by the time all of the assessments are done ;)
I'll make sure to try it next time I use AWB. (I just finished copyediting about 300 articles, now just trying to get some "real editing" done.) jj137(talk)04:20, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
That's funny. There's another way to "trick" it: if it says "no changes made, click ignore" or something like that, if you hit save, the number of edits you made will be +1 even though you didn't actually make an edit. BTW, have you considered archiving your talk page? jj137(talk)04:26, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

.: RFA thanks :.
Thanks for supporting me!My RfA passed with a final tally of 5 neutrals, 1 oppose and 148 supports, a turnout I couldn't have dreamed of. I'm going to do everything I can to help out the community, help with sysop tasks, and of course, contribute to the encyclopedia. If you ever need a hand with something, feel free to give a shout! Cheers! Master of PuppetsCall me MoP!☺17:24, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Either he was pulled over and got a ticket (and probably his license taken away...) or he had a wreck and his car blew up. jj137(talk)17:39, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
AWB, I know. I personally think it shows they're not lazy to go without it, though. (Just my opinion, but I hardly ever see anyone give RfA thanks using AWB.) jj137(talk)17:41, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. I thought it was probably a "block testing" account someone created due to the name and the block reason, but apparently not. jj137(talk)20:21, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah

Aah, yeah, just simple stuff like that. I think it's strange how some users will come here and know nothing (I didn't) while some will come and immediately know more about some things (like wikimarkup) then I do. jj137(talk)01:46, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't know... you can if you want. I imagine the closing admin will completely disregard it (that's one of the most obvious cases of meatpuppetry I've seen). jj137(talk)01:49, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello Steve, thanks for the welcome. I'm currently following the "lurk before you leap" policy, so I'd like to remain "anon" for now, and ask for indulgence in that regard. Not sure yet whether I'll be in or out. Great project to be a part of. Am aware of benefits and such, but want to read a bit more (style, article development, etc). Have some concerns regarding contentiousness, wars, vitriol, experienced users with an agenda, and "cabals" where experienced users effectively circumvent Wikipedia policies. I'll decide in the fullness of time. On a positive note, (1) even though I'm anon, you can use my first name, "24"; and (2) the U. of Illinois BBall team hands out a "Kenny Battle" award to the player who shows the greatest heart, in remembrance of Battle's days there - don't know much else, but hope that helps! 24.178.228.14 (talk) 03:03, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Yes, usually action will be taken much faster than if you just leave me a message on my talk page (due to there being 1500 other admins...). :) jj137(talk)03:31, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Emperor Charles fifth.png)
Latest comment: 16 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Thanks for uploading Image:Emperor Charles fifth.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 01:40, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

I expanded the article some. Also, I see you got your ref from the BR Bullpen. :) Yeah, I'm a pretty active contributor there... jj137(talk)02:33, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi, where's my sandbox? i wanna try writting there but i can't find it, and my article is ok and i don't wanna delete it (i spend long time doing it) but it had a message that said it was "considered for deletion" now i checked and is gonne :) ... thankx --Ohverde (talk) 03:41, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Cricetulodon, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I thought it probably was. I didn't want to stop you from using AWB because I had never used it for assessment and didn't know how fast it was compared to "standard". I guess different things work for different people. jj137(talk)21:01, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
A lot of my WP edits these days are related to images and copyright law (reducing sizes for Fair Use images, adding tags for missing license info, adding rationales), and so when I saw that nom (especially after having been around for the first failed one), I was a bit wary.
