Thanks, Newsletterbot. Mikhailov Kusserow (talk) 14:53, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I've reduced that article back to a stub. Unfortunately, all of pavlen666's additions to the article were copied verbatim from: http://www.calnevaresort.com/overview.php in violation of copyright. In future, please monitor contributions more closely before awarding barnstars. Thanks. Voceditenore (talk) 15:14, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

New England coaches

It could still do with rewording. Who found out? Make them the subject of the sentence. It currently says:

"In 1978, it was learned that then head coach Chuck Fairbanks was negotiating with the University of Colorado Buffaloes to take over as head coach of their team while he was still coaching Patriots."

Make it an active sentence to something like

"In 1978, XXX learned that head coach Chuck Fairbanks was negotiating to take over as the head coach of the University of Colorado Buffaloes, ..." Where XXX is whoever found out, and ... is the result of the action. Peanut4 (talk) 16:59, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

It still reads quite poorly. Make it an active sentence and it's loads better. If it's the club directors or officials, make them the subject of the sentence. Is there any reference for this claim too? That may help you to re-word it better too. Peanut4 (talk) 17:07, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Much better. Active sentence are much, much better, especially ones with proper subjects. It is, it was, etc, sound so impersonal. I'll take a full look at the FLC again now (or certainly fairly soon). Peanut4 (talk) 17:18, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I have written my first full article Transition Towns. I'm pretty happy with it as a first attempt. Could you take a peek? Fribbler (talk) 23:09, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

List of Boston Celtics players

I just started the above and was wondering if you would help out. Thanks, Milk’s Favorite Cookie (Talk) 21:40, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I like it, but it is totally redundant, as Boston Celtics all-time roster already covers all the players. Just try to model every letter after the letter "T" of this article. Maybe we can add flags and external links later. ● 8~Hype @ 09:29, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Upload Image

Hello. Do youmind if you upload an image here? I would like a picture of the Turn 2 Foundation" logo so that it may be put on the article that would be created soon. And also, I would like an image of Derek Jeter with the kids too. Thank. If you can't upload the image on that site, please search around google. And don't worry, you'll be awarded.--RyRy5 (talk) 16:24, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Turn 2 Foundation. I am almost done with it. Just give me 5-10 minutes then you can upload an image if you can.--RyRy5 (talk) 17:20, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Almost done. I'm just trying to find a few more references. BTW, you can upload an image from the site I gave you without any problems, right?--RyRy5 (talk) 17:34, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
The logo is the most important. Well, I'd say just 1 or 2 references to go.--RyRy5 (talk) 17:40, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
I finished the Turn 2 Foundation. You may upload the image now.--RyRy5 (talk) 17:59, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Great. But what does "crop" mean?--RyRy5 (talk) 19:26, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

You can crop it.--RyRy5 (talk) 19:31, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Your recent challenge

Would you be willing to add Portal:Professional wrestling to the challenge you just posted at the award center? iMatthew 2008 19:57, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Changing news

Due to what I see could be future problems with WP:AWC, I am changing my AWC Nominating Award Center Challenge to include only sponsorships for article improvements. Those who signed up before this change (you) will be granfathered in so that all the challenges you sponsor count. This is just a heads up. Thanks --SharkfaceT/C 20:20, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

References Challenge

After much deliberation on the Award Center Talk Page, I have decided to scrap the References Tagging Challenge. I will award barnstars according to completion of the challenge for those who signed up earlier but who haven't completed the challenge. How far have you gotten with this challenge so far? --SharkfaceT/C 21:04, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Ah, that would be part of the References Adding Challenge. I sent you a message regarding the tagging challenge. The confusion comes from the fact that I branched off the challenge you originally signed up (adding/tagging) for into two challenges (adding and tagging), so that while your name doesn't appear under adding (which you've done), I understand your position. Now I'm wondering if you've tagged any articles using {{references}}. Also, you only have 77 more references to add for a barnstar in the other challenge. :-) --SharkfaceT/C 21:21, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Define the word "re-designing". Aesthetics or content? --SharkfaceT/C 21:25, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
If you want to go ahead with it, create your exact proposal on a subpage of yours. Then post links your proposal on the Award Center talk page. If the users of AWC like it, go ahead and change it. --SharkfaceT/C 21:46, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
I guess you missed the huge discussion on the talk page. --SharkfaceT/C 21:52, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Um, just to let you know, I'm also a kid who likes basketball if you didn't know. I like the celtics and the lakers, but It's true that I like baseball more.--RyRy5 (talkwikify) 23:58, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

I've left a new note at the FLC Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of San Diego Chargers head coaches. However I feel the comments are appropriate to both of your current FLCs, I've commented on. Don't be afraid to raise the bar and improve standards of FLCs. I don't feel the lead is worthy enough for FL status at San Diego Chargers head coaches as of yet, but try not to just get beyond the line, but thoroughly smash it. See what you can do with them both. Peanut4 (talk) 01:47, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

A very good start. If you continue in the same way, in my opinion, you will have a great FL on your hands, not just a good one. Peanut4 (talk) 21:28, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Beginning to look an excellent piece of work. You'll need quite a few more references in the history section. A few more details may be needed - I still don't see mention of how Gillman came to take over as head coach and how he implemented the West Coast offence he was fabled for. Just give it a read through to see if you think it reads well. I'd also get someone to give it an independent copy edit to brush up the prose. But overall, this is heading towards being an entry worthy of FL status, and one that other entries, certainly other "head coaches" articles can work towards. Well done. Peanut4 (talk) 23:14, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query On 1 May, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of Atlanta Falcons head coaches, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.
--Royalbroil 00:39, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Atlanta Falcons coaches

Congrats on your DYK. I updated the information regarding the coaches to correct errors in there. Both Petrino and Reeves left after week 14 of their respective seasons with Petrino resigning and Reeves being fired. Mike Smith is the new coach of the Falcons though I am not aware if there is an article on him. Congrats anyway. Chris (talk) 01:46, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Image Request Again...

Hello, MFC. I would like you to upload another image, this time for the article I created, Baseball uniform. I would like about 3 images of possibly caps, tops, shoes, ect., but mostly the full uniform. The images of the uniforms should be from the 1800's and the 1900's. I will give you a barnstar for your hard work. Thanks.--RyRy5 (talkwikify) 01:39, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, and good luck on your tests.--RyRy5 (talkwikify) 01:44, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Have you found any yet?--RyRy5 (talkwikify) 00:35, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, it's okay. And I probabaly won't take a picture of my uniform as it doesn't look 100 years old :D.--RyRy5 (talkwikify) 01:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

That explains it. Also, you have quite a bit of DYK's. Do you think the article is ready for nom?--RyRy5 (talkwikify) 01:23, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh, thanks :). You even got the exact sentence I was going to nominate it with. But will it harm the chances of passing even if the article has 2 verification templates?--RyRy5 (talkwikify) 01:32, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

List of New England Patriots head coaches

Updated DYK query On 2 May, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of New England Patriots head coaches, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.
--BorgQueen (talk) 17:10, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I've just spotted your dilemma, and I feel partly to blame for it. I much prefer the list with a history section, it's an annotated list. I tried to get one done at List of Bradford City A.F.C. managers but I need to sort out the list part of it. There's already an FL at List of Manchester City F.C. managers as I pointed out before. I much prefer it with a history because it actually tells you something, without it and it's bland, boring and feel basic on any details. However, I'll leave it up to you to what course of action you want to take; whether you leave them in, remove them all, or find other guidance. Sorry, if I've increased the amount of work you've had to do, but I just thought the lists were better with them in. Peanut4 (talk) 23:56, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

It's up to you whether you create History of ... coaches, as long as they pass WP:N, and just had a {{seealso}} in the List of ... coaches. I'd certainly like to see the lead section of the lists expanded though. Recently there were a discussion on WT:FLC regarding the standard of newly-passed lists. My worry regarding such lists without a history section, is that it's simply a job of filling in a pre-made template for each List of ... coaches. You're putting in invaluable work, just to me it looks like each list is the bare minimum required, when more could be done. However, if you're prepared to put in the work to add History of ... coaches, at least that will bridge some of the gap. Peanut4 (talk) 01:31, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 05:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Crystaleyes cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Crystaleyes cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:17, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Nope. I live in Louisville, and even though it's a pretty big deal here, I'm not going... I've never found horse racing very interesting (I'll watch it on TV though). I was just asking because I always wondered how big of a thing it was in other parts of the U.S.   jj137 (talk) 17:36, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Comments?--RyRy5 (talkReview) 01:11, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, at least you tried. Thanks.--RyRy5 (talkReview) 01:25, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
What do you think of San Jacinto College North? I may nom it for DYK in a while, but what hook should be used?--RyRy5 (talkReview) 01:38, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Merging scripts (a little late...)

Some of that looks like stuff I don't have much experience with, but I will work with it. It is possible, but it may take some time.   jj137 (talk) 01:45, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Some Questions

First off, i would like to congratulate you on your service to wikipedia. just from editing random articles and being around, i've seen your username popup about 40 times or so and it's always been for the better.

But the real reason i'm here. Your username is listed on the list of people who can provide a copy of a deleted article. I am requesting 2. The first one is 2nd Demo, Blink-182's 2nd Demo. The other one is Reach 454. I got one of there CD's from CD tradepost and have no clue about the history of the band or anything and was wondering if i could get a copy of that article.

Also, amazing userpage. Keep up the great work here on wikipedia. [LukeTheSpook] | [t c r] 05:59, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:List of San Diego Chargers head coaches

All those DYK's

Where do you find the articles that you nominate? Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 23:53, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I take it you are good at finding free use images on the web... am I correct? Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours Oh no! It him again!/So what if it is? 01:32, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
26328 Litomyšl... I've looked, but couldn't find anything that 1) is FU and 2) is not a Polish map of places I've never heard of. Sort of like WP:AWC, the reward is a barnstar. Will you do it? Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours Oh no! It him again!/So what if it is? 01:36, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
