Ebola edit

So you're interested in Ebola huh? Welcome to Wikipedia, you've been invited to join the virus wikiproject. Above is a standard introduction, it lists some useful links for reference. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. ChyranandChloe (talk) 09:00, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the kind welcome! :) Yes, I am interested in Ebola, but as an amateur biologist I'm also interested in most other viruses, and everything that has to do with them. Right now I'm working on my own little project - merging of Chopin's Ballades into one page - but once I'm done with that, I plan to clean up and expand some existing biology articles, like Anaerobic respiration (that one is particularly awful). I've also discovered WP:AFC, which I'll probably take advantage of eventually. :) I don't have any questions right now, but if I do I'll make sure to ask! Thanks! Better linking on WP edit

Hey, I just saw your request for review, and noticed that you linked 'NPC' improperly. Typically when you link with an acronym on WP (well, an initialism, technically), you should preview your post, then open that link in a new tab to make sure it really goes where you want it. In this case NPC leads to a disambiguation page, which links to other pages which could be what someone typing 'NPC' could be looking for. What you can do instead is type something like this...

[[NPC|Non-player character]]

Which produces this link to NPC. Pretty handy, right? Hope this helps! Lx45803 (talk) 19:41, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yep, I knew about that (and have been employing it to my advantage). It's just that when I was writing that particular link, I didn't bother to check for anything like that. Thanks for your advice, though! :) Insoraktalk 20:09, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Joe Wineke edit

Please be careful when undoing edits: what you signaled as blanking was clearly an effort to improve the article, as I'm sure you realized in your subsequent edit. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 22:31, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Right - sorry about that. I'm still a bit new here. :) Insoraktalk 22:31, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lincoln edit

Hi. On Lincoln you fixed a link that is part of an experiment. Do you remember how you came to do that? Please comment on Talk:Lincoln. Thanks! --Una Smith (talk) 17:21, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Okay - sorry about that, that was indeed a mistaken good faith edit and I did not realize it was part of the aforementioned experiment! (I thought that standard WP protocol was to bypass redirects, and I didn't see at the time any reason for it to be a piped redirect.) Once again, my mistake! Cheers! Insoraktalk 19:00, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I'm just curious how you came to notice the link. And how you came to the dab page. --Una Smith (talk) 20:49, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ohh! I was doing my history homework on reconstruction after the Civil War. I searched for Lincoln, and I noticed that there was a redirect when I clicked on the Abraham Lincoln link. Insoraktalk 21:07, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

For the reason for my questions, see this. --Una Smith (talk) 17:39, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the link, and, once again, sorry for disrupting your experiment! (As a biologist, I know the frustrations of having an experiment be messed up, even if unintentionally.) Insoraktalk 19:49, 8 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Chopin Ballades edit

Good job, Insorak. I did have a look through the other day, found very little I would change, and got distracted. I've now made a few very minor tweaks. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 09:09, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad to know that I can edit reasonably well. :P I hope we get to work together sometime in the future. Have a great day. Insoraktalk 20:09, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
