January 2009 edit

  The recent edit you made to Xonecontrol constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Optakeover(Talk) 01:44, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • User Init6, the sole author, blanked the page. This is commonly interpreted as a request for deletion as per {{db-g7}}. — Athaenara 01:51, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • The three of us were stepping all over each other for a minute there, it was very confusing. I tried to tag it as a G7, and when Twinkle got it done, the content had been restored, it was making my head spin. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:53, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • I can dig it. This account was very active, including removing speedy deletion tags, until it was blocked (see below). — Athaenara 02:32, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Xonecontrol edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Xonecontrol, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Lacks any coverage in reliable sources, therefore fails notability.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Your Username edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: It appears to be the name of a company, Init6, and as such is not allowed per username guidelines, see Wikipedia:U#Company.2Fgroup_names. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

FYI conflict of interest guideline edit

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia in the articles XoneControl, Xonecontrol, and INIT6 (as well as User:Init6: see Wikipedia:User page#What may I not have on my user page?), you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. — Athaenara 02:14, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of XoneControl edit

A tag has been placed on XoneControl, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you.
