Speedy deletion nomination of User:Inhinito edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Inhinito, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. February 2020 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: .  Kosack (talk) 09:28, 2 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Given that this is supposed to be a personal user page for the user:Inhinito, I thought it was appropriate to add links pointing to the Inhinito Official website and its corresponding social media websites. Is this information not appropriate for the Inhinito user? I have every intention of contributing to the Wikipedia community and this is why signed in today, only to find out that I was blocked. I contest this block. Please unblock my account.

Decline reason:

The text you had on your user page indicated that this is an account for an organization- that is not permitted, as accounts are for individuals only. It is not appropriate for you to promote your club on your user page, your user page is a place for you as an individual user to introduce themselves to the Wikipedia community in the context of your Wikipedia use. You will also need to propose a new username, as usernames cannot be that of organizations(I will provide instructions below on how to do that). In your next request, please describe the contributions you wish to make to the encyclopedia; I am declining your request at this time. 331dot (talk) 20:58, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

March 2020 edit

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text Your proposed new username at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

 • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
 • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text Your reason here at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 20:59, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have not been blocked again; I have posted the above for informational purposes only, so you know how to make an unblock request that also proposes a new username(you need only use the first template). 331dot (talk) 21:00, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand that my username cannot be that of an organisation so I switched it to the username that I use for my socials which contains my name. I also understand that my page should not be used for advertising or promotion. The contributions that I intend to make are mostly in the areas of art and tech, specifically in Greece. As stated in a previous message, I have the intention to begin with big names in the Greek Lo-Fi musical scene such as Neoplasma and Ondi Vil. Maybe later move on to some Greek bands.

Decline reason:

The proposed username matches an internet domain name that is clearly linked to the original block reason. Please choose a completely unrelated name instead. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:37, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have removed a logged-out request from this page. Especially username change requests must be made while logged in. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:21, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm not a global renamer, but I wonder if one of the reasons why your request has been sitting here in the queue is because nobody knows whether that's an allowed username. It might help if you chose something that didn't start with a tilde. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:51, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I've only seen this now, but it is the reason why I'm not renaming. It must be permitted in usernames to some degree, as everything renamed in the SUL would have a tilde in. However, its use like this is odd. If you particularly wish I can raise it with the renamers email list, but a different one would probably be preferable (the previous submission was fine name-wise, though obviously it's fine if you don't want one with your name in - it was only declined because it was submitted while logged out) Nosebagbear (talk) 13:28, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I didn't even think about this. WP:NOEMOJI might indeed be a concern. "Usernames that use any non-language symbols" are forbidden. ~riley exists, but was created long before 6 November 2017. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 02:45, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Technically, it works ~wadokawopdkwaopdqwtestnonscriptname (talk) 02:54, 16 April 2020 (UTC) / ~ ToBeFree (talk) 02:56, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Please note that my username is not "~ ToBeFree", it's just "ToBeFree". I just sign my messages that way. To avoid the issues mentioned above, I recommend changing the request. Inhinito, please replace "~f" in your request by something purely alphanumeric. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 02:59, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

As there has been no response for three months, I have now disabled the unblock template. Please create a new request if you're still interested. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:58, 17 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
