American call signs edit

TV Guide is not a reliable source for call signs, you must use what the FCC has on their database. If the FCC lists KCPQ as simply KCPQ, it will remain KCPQ in the list. Very few American stations actually have the -DT suffix.  єmarsee Speak up! 04:59, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

CHRO-TV edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. I am not a bot. ΔT The only constant 17:33, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

File:CTV Two.png does not have a rationale for its usage on CHRO-TV. If you re-insert it without a rationale again you will be blocked for violating our non-free content policy/copyright policies. ΔT The only constant 17:51, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
PS your misuse of twinkle is grounds for removal. Please review WP:VAND my edits are not vandalism. ΔT The only constant 17:53, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

@InMontreal; Δ happens to be correct here. If you look at WP:NFC #10c, it states that there must be a separate, specific fair use rationale for each use of a non-free image. Now looking at File:CTV Two.png, there is no rationale there for the use you are attempting on the CHRO-TV article. There is one for A (TV system), but not CHRO-TV. Accusing Δ of vandalism, being a bot and of not reading is hardly constructive. Further, attempting to escalate the situation by taking this to WP:AIV when you had been informed of the policy by Δ above was highly inappropriate. Δ is correct. Either fix the problem, or do not restore the image. Continuing to edit war without fixing the problem will go poorly for you, as doing so is clearly in violation of several policies. If you have questions, ask. But, continuing as you have been is not an option if you want to retain your editing privileges here. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:31, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

CHRO-TV is a local station part of A (TV system) network which will become CTV Two next september. It's simple logic that the same logo will also apply for CKVR-TV, CFPL-TV, CHWI-TV and CIVI-TV. If I want the File:CTV Two.png logo to appear on all these articles, what do I have to do? Upload the same logo for as many times as there are stations/articles? InMontreal (talk) 18:44, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
You will have to write for every use a fair-use rationale (the easiest way is by filling the template). You don't have to upload the image 4 times, one image with 4 rationales is fine. The rationale that is there now is not sufficient, that is only for one article. --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:46, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

CITS-DT Hamilton edit

This TSReader report was posted on the Digital Home forum showing that the station you removed is 1080i: https://content.wuala.com/contents/whosurbud/Documents/TsReaderDumps/DX_May122011/CITS-HD_Hamilton_ON_UHF35.htm?key=oTdbmsefOHdX Msgohan (talk) 02:29, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

OK, but are they broadcasting in 16:9 in high-definition? Or in 4:3 upcale? Also, neither Rogers or Cogeco offers CITS-TV in HD.
There's a tiny squished-down thumbnail where you can see it's using the full image; compare to this program on OMNI. Not sure the relevance of saying it's missing on other providers. My understanding from the header is that it's just for Missing HD Channels, not compared to cable. Msgohan (talk) 21:13, 27 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

AXS TV edit

Learn how to read. I didn't delete a damn thing on AXS TV. I don't appreciate your false accusation. TomCat4680 (talk) 01:44, 3 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Really? Check the article's History a little further, on your 3rd edit of the day at 10:43, you removed 5,765 bytes in the middle of a sentence all the way to the bottom which includes the categories! Or more directly, this diff. And you didn't find it strange that you had to add the References section for an article that already contained a bunch of references, after a sentence that finishes with news pie without a period? See this other diff. InMontreal (talk) 12:25, 3 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well it was an accident then. My server must have froze, it does it a lot. Sorry bout that. TomCat4680 (talk) 14:26, 3 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re:Logos edit

I remember dealing with a few users who removed NFCC images from many Canadian TV articles several years ago and it's something I'd rather not get involved in again. All it creates is pointless edit wars, stress and drama spreading over several articles and talkpages. This is likely going to be my only response on this issue and is merely my own opinion.

WP:NFCC should not be trumped by a Wikipedia's own policies, and WP:TVS acknowledges that. From what I interpret from WP:NFG, non-free galleries are allowed if the images can be justified, and that usually means meeting NFCC 3a (minimal usage) and 8 (significance). 3a usually isn't an issue on articles regarding TV stations, since the image will not be used outside the article and will only be used once. The former revision does violate 3a since the current logo is repeated twice in the article. I'd be for the removal of that. I'd argue that minimal usage can also be achieved by removing the current alternate logo, and the 2001 logo since it bears a strong resemblance to the current logo and per WP:TVS "Do not add a logo if the only thing that has changed from the previous logo is the finish of the image."

Significance can be achieved by adding commentary to the logo, preferably with reliable sources. I don't remember the article but non-free images were kept on an Canadian television article due to the introduction of sourced commentary. If those points are met, I think the image gallery can stay.

On another note, the NBC and ABC logos page are sourced and critical commentary is provided, so that's probably the reason why those pages still exist.  █ EMARSEE 01:42, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the article Le SuperClub Vidéotron is up to date but the same in Wikipedia in French is out of date, with this text source of this: Here, you could select all the text source of that page, copy the text source and then paste the text source on the article in Wikipedia in French, don’t forget to remove the actual text source of the article, the text source will work correctly on Wikipedia in French.

I don’t know why, I tried but I’m not able, maybe because that I don’t have account.

Thank you to do that for me, the article will be better after with the logo of today and a more appropriate color infobox...✋😀--185.92.26.14 (talk) 20:56, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
