Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Messenger bag. Wikipedia is not a collection of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. I apologize for my error in inserting links, I was told that I could insert my link in relevant wikipedia pages, as someone relatively new to deriving "links" I took the advice with too much gusto. No, I am not employed by them. My understanding was that if my link was relevant and there was a dead link, I could insert my link in place. It was bad advice and I was silly enough to take it. It will not happen again.
- Firstly, that's not what you did - you inserted brand new external links where there were previously none (and in places where there should not be an external link). Also, the practice of replacing a dead link with a promotional one is dishonest and is only done by cheats who want to abuse our project. Finally, you are surely connected with the company in some way - or do you expect us to believe that you voluntarily tried to do SEO promotion for them out of the goodness of your heart? ok, I appreciate your reply and getting back to me. I'm not sure what else to do except apologize (which I have already done) and assure you that this is a one off and a mistake due to inexperience.
- What you can do is be honest about what you were trying to do and why you are here, follow the instructions given to you by Boing! about conflict of interest and paid editing, and state what it is you want to do if you are unblocked- as it is almost certain that being unblocked will involve you agreeing to not add external links(at a minimum). 331dot (talk) 15:25, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
