Welcome! edit

Hello, Ikechi18, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, please see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 22:25, 23 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

August 2018 edit

  Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Nicki Minaj. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 22:26, 23 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

May 2019 edit

  Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Nairaland. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. – Ammarpad (talk) 04:03, 1 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

http://spam.wikiwaparz.com edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for adding spam links. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: .  Alexf(talk) 11:03, 18 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Decline reason:

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas. Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:52, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What do you intend to edit instead? stwalkerster (talk) 17:59, 21 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

i will add appropriate links this time, no more adding of irrelevant linksIkechi18 (talk)

There are many other ways you can contribute to Wikipedia besides adding links. I'd suggest finding some of them to focus on at first.
So, can you give a specific example of an edit you'd like to made if unblocked? Include the target article, what you'd change, how you'd change it, and the sources that support your change. —C.Fred (talk) 18:29, 21 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

i will correct any grammatical errors and replace dead links, and also add more information on any article i am knowledgeable about, thanks Ikechi18 (talk)

So, can you give one specific example of such an edit? —C.Fred (talk) 18:46, 21 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

example in this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olamide , i can add more details concerning his awards and norminations, Ikechi18 (talk)

This is the last time I will repeat my question. What specifically would you change in the article? You may want to phrase your answer in the form of "In section W, I would change X to Y, and the information can be verified in source Z." —C.Fred (talk) 18:55, 21 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

example in this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Nigeria , in the notes section there are some spam links there e.g gakaza.com, i would remove them or replace them to a better link for downloading music such as naijaloaded.com.ng/download-mp3/ Ikechi18 (talk)

You're halfway there. I agree that gakaza.com is not an acceptable source and should not be listed. However, listing other download sites is not any better—not to mention the concerns over copyright. Try again, and focus on information that can be backed up from reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 20:40, 28 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

please sir give me a chance, i promise not to add any unnecessary links again, please Ikechi18 (talk)

We have offered you the standard second chance. You have not taken us up on the offer yet. —C.Fred (talk) 12:09, 29 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
