Finlandia

edit

Thanks for letting me know about the hype coming back to the Finlandia vodka page. I've removed it again. If you spot anything else on Wikipedia that needs changing and doesn't need specialist knowledge, feel free to do it yourself — be bold!

Also, please remember to sign your contributions to talk pages with ~~~~ so people can see who they're talking to without having to look at the revision history. Enjoy Wikipedia! Dricherby (talk) 10:55, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, did not want to wholly replace an article without dropping a cause in the proper place/way. Ihosama (talk) 11:09, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

War in Libya

edit

Quote: "Another point is, when you have lived through Democratization (read as systematic society destruction) and Liberalization (read: systematic economy destruction), you lose all kinds of illusions about the motives of any movement marketed as democratic of freedom-loving by the western power base". Brilliant! Couldn't have put it better myself. Biscuittin (talk) 09:54, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

So because corruption f...ed up democratic change in russia, benghazi deserves to be the scene of a massacre at the hands of a vicious regime. Brilliant. couldn't have put it stupider myself. two wrongs, don't make a right.92.4.67.245 (talk) 20:52, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Brega-Ajdabiya

edit

First of, what? Who said anything about edit warring? This is the first I have heard about this. Me and Zenithfel are in constant contact on our talk pages.

Second, I propose that this fourth battle of Brega be merged back to 2nd Battle of Ajdabiya, only if the bombing of Ajdabiya continues tomorrow, and that article be renamed to Battle of Brega-Ajdabiya road, since yes it seems that 2nd Battle of Ajdabiya was just a raid into the town and not a real battle for the city (a BBC reporter called it just a raid). However, I am against merging the Late March rebel offensive and Third Battle of Brega with this article, because those were two totaly separate engagements. The first being a series of small-scale fights during a failed rebel offensive on the west of the country and the second being a full-scale battle for Brega which ended in another rebel defeat and loyalists consolidating their control over the city. EkoGraf (talk) 19:19, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your communication-via-edits and via talk pages (how should anyone know about that?) made it look like edit warring and also hard for a third party to keep track of it.
I am too strongly opposed to merging Late March 2011 Libyan rebel offensive with Third Battle of Brega.
But, 3rd Brega along with 2nd Ajdabya and 4th Brega form a single mechanized engagement for the control of Brega (from Loyalists POV) and Ajdabiya (from Rebel POV). The only difference I see between 3rd Brega and following events is that Pro-Gaddafi forces had decided to reply to the rebel tactic of constant back-and-forth harassment of their Brega positions with their own harassment of rebel Ajdabiya positions.Ihosama (talk) 19:52, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I did it, I merged 2nd Ajdabiya and 4th Brega, it was getting ridiculos, they going back and forth all the time in the last week since the rebels retreated after 3rd Brega leaving it totaly under loyalist control. EkoGraf (talk) 19:48, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good work. Lets leave at this and focus on content.Ihosama (talk) 19:52, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the decision to merge.Zenithfel (talk) 19:52, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Wazzin

edit

Need your help. An editor with a single-purpose account is trying to fork of the battle at the border post into one small article. Which has already been explained in just one paragraph in the main article on the Nafusa mountains campaign. Another editor has already proposed the merger back to the main article. The discussion is here [1]. The battle, if we could even call it that, was a several-hours long firefight which resulted in a prompt retreat of 100 soldiers over the border. Not much of a fight. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
