• Ok, copyrights are fun. Quick lesson. If it doesn't specifically list a licence that we can use (see Wikipedia:Copyrights for this), basically public domain or something you created, then it is copyrighted and cannot be used. Thus your image, while freely available is NON-free in the software liberty sense. The English language is so confusing regarding this. Hopefully this clears things up. India Pakistan 1965 war mess

Idleguy,

Just wanted you to know that I have asked User:Texture, who is an administrator to block User:Napoleon12 and all his sockpuppets eminating from London, Ontario. This guy will just plain not listen to reason. He has reverted edits 15 times in under 24 hours. I have reported him again on WP:AN/3RR and on vandalism in progress but nothing has been done about it so far. Meanwhile this guy is merilly concocting his own version of the India Pakistan War with ever passing hour, complete with copyright infringed images and all. If you have any other ideas as far as how to deal with this vandal, let me know.

Nilgiri Langur

Primate taxonomy has undergone some significant changes in the last 5-10 years. The taxonomy presented on Wikipedia is according to Groves' contribution to the (soon to be published) revised edition of Mammal Species of the World, but is very similar to what Groves published in 2000 in Primate Taxonomy. - UtherSRG 11:07, Jun 13, 2005 (UTC)

Indian Air Force

Hi Idleguy - just wondering whether you're able to add the Hindi for the Indian Air Force to its article and the List of air forces? At present, the latter article says that it's transliterated Bharatiya Vayu Sena, but it would be nice to include the Hindi script for this, the way that we have for air forces named in other non-Roman scripts. About the Pakistani Airforce during the 6-day war

I've read about those claims somewhere, I don't remember where. During the war, only 5 Israeli aircrafts were downed in air battles (rest by AA guns and Ground to Air missiles), and I know 4 were downed above Egypt, and 1 above Syria. About the pilots.. I have no idea.

Monsato and Corporate Terrorism

I just saw your edit to the Monsato article. I'm sympathetic to your point of view, but I think there's a better way to put it. Could you perhaps expand on why they are associated with corporate terrorism. For example, their involvement in spraying crops of farmers in Colombia might qualify as an example of corporate terrorism. Would it be safe to be more specific about the way they are mentioned. For example: Monsanto is often listed as an example of corporate terrorism. This wording might be less likely to be labeled as weasel words. I'd be glad to do some editing myself, but I don't want to step on your toes. mennonot 21:48, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

Please feel free to edit it to make it NPOV. The reason why is that they were directly responsible for many deaths. Many crop failures and related problems of using GM seeds have resulted in the deaths of many farmers in the developing world faced with bankruptcy. this type of terrorism is subtle and under the cloak of a corporation quite well disguised. the term "terrorism" might bring images of someone holding a gun or a bomb strapped to his body, but economic control and the threat of lawsuits against halpless farmers is an equally if not more potent a weapon. The references are from offline sources like "THE HINDU Review on Agriculture, India" and other local newspapers as well some online sites mentioning Monsanto in the same breath as corporate terrorism. I have also included a section on India and the failure of GM cotton seeds to explain the problem.

Sri Lankan 1990-Prsent

Thanks for the input but I have somethign to clear up. You stated

What about the JVP, they brought the country to its knees in 70's 80's except for independance until 1965 the Army has been constanly active. Except for that period I dont think there has been a solid relative calm. My parents are from Sri lanka, I have family in india and still have relative in Sri Lanka. Im interested on your take on this. I mean no disrespect by question what you wrote, nor do I claim that I know more but I just wish to know where you got this information? I'm hoping we can come to agreement a I really want to get the Sri Lankan Military articles up to standard.

Hey thanks for the info. Actually the para I put in was more like a rough draft gleaned because I'd learnt about the LTTE when they became particularly active during the 80s and because the IPKF was also involved. It is by no means comprehensive and was just meant as a starting point. Feel free to put in what you know about pre 1980s since I know only the names like JVP but not what they did etc. I'd b glad if you can bring it up to date and would assist in whatever info I can chip in. Ooooops. I mentioned that by mistake. It is actually Ghum railway station. Sorry for the error and that I didn't add the reference along with the edit as I normally do for most such additions. The reference is from a Discovery channel video on the Darjeeling Railway programme that mentions this fact. I think what they meant by "conventional" was steam locomotive. Cox's Bazar

Hi, I was wrong about the shelling. But the port there is not a sea port, its more of a fishing wharf. By sea port I mean where sea-going ships dock, and the one at Cox's Bazaar doesn't have them going there. There are proposals for setting up an outer anchorage near Kutubdia Island off the coast of Cox's Bazar, but that hasn't been implemented yet. But anyway, I guess the terminology aside, I agree on the content you placed about shelling by Pak Forces in 1971. ???????!!!!!! Either you didn't understand the first line was a joke or you can't comprehend what I wrote. Why in the world would I hate donkeys? As a matter of fact I was one of the main contributors in the donkey article and the subspecies section in onager wild donkey listing was based on what I added to the original donkey article. I can't comprehend why you'd say that I detest donkeys or any animal for that matter. The reasoning has been clearly explained in your talk page.

Just curious. Is this an opinion or quoted from somewhere ? Because I think Battle of Khemkaran/Asal Uttar would be very near the top. As an aside, the Khemkaran article says little about the war. It needs to be improved sometime. Tintin 10:50, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

Bangladesh Liberation War

It seems that an anon is adding links to the disputed claim of Sarmila Bose on denying the genocide in East Pakistan/Bangladesh in 1971. Although the paper by Ms. Bose is disputed, and mostly discounted by independent observers and accounts from that time (e.g. Archer Blood, the US envoy in Dacca in 1971), the anon has used the study to remove the figure of casualties and replace it with an amazing figure of 26,000. I am collecting scholarly references on the war, such as books I could gather from a local library. Would you help with the research? The main thing is, the anon has only the disputed paper from Ms. Bose to cite, while I already gathered several accounts from that time (books published in 1972). Great job in writing about the main war in Bangladesh Liberation War. I'm too busy writing a couple of papers, and have neglected to expand the article, but seeing your work in that section, I must admit it is a great job of summarizing. I'll add some more details on the organization of the Mukti Bahini's war, and some tidbits. One thing we can mention is the part where Tikka Khan was replaced by Niazi, some other setbacks etc. In any case, I really like the enormous task of summarizing a 9 month war into that section you added ... not a trivial task at all.
