License tagging for File:Stephen Paley.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Stephen Paley.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:06, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You should be able to edit just fine; what message are you receiving when you try to change a page? Kuru (talk) 21:54, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the information below. This is a range block placed on a web host, and one that has been used abusively. Just don't edit through the proxy.Kuru (talk) 22:06, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

the message I get is
You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia.

You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create them. Editing from 50.97.0.0/16 has been blocked (disabled) by Elockid for the following reason(s): Server-multiple.svg The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because the IP range you are editing from is a web host provider. Since your IP acts like a proxy, because it hides your IP address, it has been blocked. To prevent abuse, these IPs may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you do not have any other way to edit Wikipedia, you will need to request an IP Block Exemption. If this is the case, please request to be unblocked using the {{unblock}} template, and provide a clear reason why you need to use a webhost. If you would prefer to do so in confidentiality, please contact functionaries at functionaries-en@lists.wikimedia.org. Furthermore, your IP address may also be blocked because there are proxies on it. Admins: Before applying IP block exemption, a CheckUser needs to take a look at the account. This can be requested most easily at SPI Quick Checkuser Requests. Unblocking an IP or IP range with this template is highly discouraged without at least contacting the blocking administrator.Idiolect43 (talk) 21:57, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Idiolect43/sandbox does not come up. It says: "Wikipedia does not have a user page with this exact name. Before creating this page, please see Wikipedia:Subpages.

Start the User:Idiolect43/sandbox page" I started it but it is blocked and I have to keep starting it.Idiolect43 (talk) 22:04, 30 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Why would you want to edit Wikipedia via a VPN, rather than directly? The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 22:16, 3 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

All internet access here is through a VPN. Some people have ATT, we have Time Warner. I "want" to use the VPN because I get access to the internet through it.20:05, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

I have turned off the {{help me}} request; that's meant for general editing help. The kind of help you need is much more specialized, and (the vast majority of) the people summoned by {{help me}} cannot be of assistance here. LFaraone, on the other hand, can, and I take it he's already helping you via email. Huon (talk) 02:51, 7 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
