August 2017 edit

Hi, please don't add entries to navboxes until they have articles, since the primary stated purpose of navboxes is to aid navigation between articles. Thanks, Jc86035 (talk) 14:14, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Suggestions edit

Hi Idesmi, I saw your Draft:Searx article. Definitely it has potential, and it's a search engine I've used myself!

If you want a good chance at the article being accepted, add more references to reliable sources that remark on the notability of searx.me. A good place to find articles is on Google News, https://www.google.ca/search?q=searx&source=lnms&tbm=nws :

Cheers and good luck! --Nanite (talk) 15:14, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Nanite: Thanks for your advice! I managed to add more references, hope it's going to be accepted. Idesmi (talk) 07:31, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Idesmi Before you go much further with the lists, I want to point out that if the article is accepted, those lists are eventually going to get pulled out. It would be much better to have a short one paragraph of the general idea, containing a link to the official tables of Searx. Wikipedia is not supposed to end up looking like an instruction manual.
As far as references go, it's important to focus on the things that are reported about searx --- reported by people not directly involved with the project. When tech reporters look at searx, what are the noteworthy things that stand out to them? --Nanite (talk) 08:09, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Idesmi: OK, the article is much better now. Still, you should take out pretty much all of the citations of personal blogs, reddit posts, documentation written by Searx people, etc..
Rather, try to rely on what is said in the citations like Linux Magazine, Sophos Naked Security, TechSpot.
Ideally the reference list should look like that you see on Tor2web's article, as a tech example. (I was looking at comparable searches's articles -- DuckDuckGo and Ixquick -- and they are bad examples.)
Anyway I have read closely the AfC guidelines and I believe it will be accepted. I would have accepted it already, myself, but there's some bureaucratic hoops I'm supposed to jump through. Cheers, --Nanite (talk) 20:20, 1 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Nanite: Thanks a lot for support. It's my first own page here. Even if it was not accepted, shouldn't it be placed as stub?

Homeworld 3 moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Homeworld 3, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
