Excuse me, what do you mean with "interviews and press releases are not suitable sources for establishing notability"? There is a Metal Hammer source which says that the recent album was awarded "album of the month" by the magazine. There are reviews in the special press. I don't get your point. --Iconicos (talk) 19:27, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Added much more sources now, the article passes WP:NMUSIC, so please rethink your verdict.--Iconicos (talk) 19:44, 9 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of The Scythe of Cosmic Chaos edit

Hello Iconicos,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Scythe of Cosmic Chaos for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

What a nonsense. Instead of reviewing Draft:Sulphur Aeon to get the main article for this clearly notable band, the album article is speedy deleted. And I don't even get the chance to contest it, because I'm offline. Big bull****.--Iconicos (talk) 17:20, 27 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
The main reason it would have been deleted is because the band article has not been successfully reviewed (and was declined on the first review). It is natural to be upset when articles are declined but you must remember that the articles need reliable, independent citations to make sure the subject is notable prior to be included on the main space. Rather than complaining your time would be better spent taking this advice on board and working to ensure the band article is properly referenced. If you need any help then ping me. Regards Hughesdarren (talk) 09:16, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Dear Hughesdarren, please view the history of the draft closely. Since the first review, I added 19 (!!!) good sources, which are NO interviews or press releases. So I can not imagine any reason why it isn't included immediately. I apologize for my words, but I would be very grateful when the draft gets included soon.--Iconicos (talk) 16:36, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Taking a look at Draft:Sulphur Aeon now, and have started filling out reference templates, see my message below about Van Records, if you could do this yourself it would help the reviewers out alot. Given the number of references in the article this might take a while. I'm also working on a couple of other articles and involved in a couple of lengthy deletion discussions so you will have to be patient, might take a few days. Regards Hughesdarren (talk) 07:57, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Now the artist has an article the album would stand a much better chance of getting through. Regards Hughesdarren (talk) 10:01, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I will probably do so soon.--Iconicos (talk) 20:20, 5 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

A page you started (Ván Records) has been reviewed! edit

Thanks for creating Ván Records.

I have just reviewed the page, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Nice work, you've put alot of effort into this article. - I have tidied up the references. Please take note as how I've laid the references out with the url, title, accessdate and publisher fields all completed. This will save reviewers a bunch of time when going through the various references. Many of us will only check the first few if you do not do this yourself. In passing this article through I would say that this article barely passes notability the many magazines referenced are independent but the reliability of some of them would be questionable.

To reply, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

Thank you for your work. I'm not that much into the details of referencing, but maybe I can learn from this. Regarding notability: Legacy and Rock Hard are longstanding, well-established print magazines which you can find at nearly every kiosk or shop in Germany. The Ván Records label is one of the most important, if not THE most important Black Metal/Occult Rock label in Germany and beyond, so it has a leading role for this genre. It has even created an own festival. How many labels organize festivals? I consider this notable.--Iconicos (talk) 19:23, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
I just added a book source and a source from Der Spiegel to underline notability.--Iconicos (talk) 19:41, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes Rock Hard is one of the notable publications - if you are interested the full list is at WP:RSMUSIC. Notability (on Wiipedia) isn't about opinion it is about finding multiple independent reliable sources. Books and Der Spiegel are definitely big ticks - well done. Anyway no-one has contested my curation of Van Records so it looks like it should be through. Cheers Hughesdarren (talk) 23:04, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
