SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.

Welcome! edit

Hello, Iciplascarfern, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hello TSventon, thank you for walking me through the process for conflict of interest contributions. I have complied with the COI Wikipedia guidelines you listed. Also, instead of making direct edits to the article (primary hyperoxaluria), I have put in a COI edit request on the talk page of the article with detailed reasons and references for the suggested edits. It would be great if you or another editor would review the edit request and incorporate changes that you think are appropriate. Thank you, once again. Hi Iciplascarfern, the message above is standard, but I posted it as it has some useful links. I have looked at your suggestions and I would prefer to leave them to some one who has some knowledge of medicine and Wikipedia's requirements for sourcing medical articles. An editor has asked you to explain your conflict of interest at Help desk#Conflict of interest edit request No response. Without some detail of your conflict of interest it will be difficult to evaluate your edit request. TSventon (talk) 13:17, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you TSventon, I just responded to that explaining the nature of my COI. Hope that is sufficient. Iciplascarfern (talk) 13:29, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I expect the other editor will ask if they want any more information. If you make further edit requests I would advise making several smaller requests rather than one large one as finding volunteers to deal with smaller requests is easier. And it is helpful to explain your COI each time you start a new conversation so that editors don't need to search for it. TSventon (talk) 17:08, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Will keep that in mind TSventon, thank you Iciplascarfern (talk) 18:02, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Re: Talk:Primary hyperoxaluria edit

Hi Iciplascarfern, I am working through some of your edit requests on Talk:Primary hyperoxaluria. I have added most of them so far, but left feedback about sourcing on some of the changes I was not able to make. I encourage you to check out WP:MEDRS, a Wikipedia guideline about sourcing statements in medicine-related articles, such as this topic. Of note, Wikipedia avoids use of primary sources, instead favoring secondary and tertiary sources, such as review articles or textbooks. If you can find references in secondary/tertiary sources, I'm happy to make more of the proposed changes. Sorry for the delays in your edits being made, since I believe they do improve the article. Best, SpencerT•C 03:24, 19 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Spencer, thank you for incorporating the edits and for your feedback on the sources. I will explore secondary/tertiary sources for these statements and keep you posted.Iciplascarfern (talk) 20:38, 18 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
