Notability of Universal Tragedy

edit

A tag has been placed on Universal Tragedy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 23:37, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry if you think that the nomination was on bad terms or something, I wasn't saying that bands from Iceland were not notable, so I hope you understand that I'm not trying to profile them by their country. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 23:51, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability (bands)

edit

You may want to see WP:MUSIC before you go creating band articles. Two studio albums on a record label with inter-country/national touring is required or one album with a lot of coverage are what's considered notable here, add ons for notability are radioplay, charting, notable associated acts, etc. Please do not continue to make articles in this fashion. Thanks. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 00:47, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re:Changer

Really, it's ok, I understand that the scene is very separated from the rest and it's hard for them to get labels and for you to find sources to prove it, while it could be in another language. I've had my share of notability and source problems of notable bands, so I understand how you must feel. Just try to follow it as much as you can with WP:MUSIC (only one requirement is enough according to the guidelines). −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 20:25, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikimania 2010 could be coming to Stockholm!

edit

I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.

People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 09:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

About Kalmah

edit

Hi Icelandicpower;

I believe you are misinterpreting the nature of my edits; I did not modify your edits at all. If you check the edit log, you'll see that I actually restored to article to your version; it had been vandalised by user Juicedboi who had added the following section :

"Note: Lead singer "Pekka Kokko" has recently notified the public about his homosexual relationship with the undisclosed creator of the popular MMORPG "World of Warcraft", commonly referred to as "WoW"."

This is an obvious vandalism and I restored the article to your version, which was correct. The relevant edit is at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kalmah&diff=next&oldid=266918029 if you're interested

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
