The Cofidis Article

Hi, I've commented on your reversion on the Cofidis article discussion page. Please read and reply from there to tell me what you think.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.138.43.106 (talk) 18:57, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Colfer interview

Would this be the interview mentioned here? Calvin 1998 (t-c) 05:47, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes - Cal, you're a genius. Doesn't look like there's an immense amount of information there, unfortunately. Thanks! IceUnshattered (talk) 14:10, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Lame

Re: 87.218.67.200 He's using an edit summary and contributing in good faith. That isn't vandalism. Please don't revert it without an edit summary. Thank you. Protonk (talk) 17:21, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Understood, if I see something of the sort again I will provide a more informative edit summary. I apologise for my mistakes. IceUnshattered (talk) 17:25, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
No problem. Everyone makes them. :) Protonk (talk) 17:30, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Whistle tip

I don't understand your comment about citations -- they've been added to the article. DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 20:40, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I was just commenting that if you were to add all that stuff, then you'd need citations to back it up. Luckily, the refs are there, so it's fine there. IceUnshattered (talk) 22:32, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Many thanks!

  Thank you...

...for participating in my RfA, which closed with 119 in support, 4 neutral and 5 opposes. I'm honestly overwhelmed at the level of support that I've received from the community, and will do my best to maintain the trust placed in me. I 'm also thankful to those who opposed or expressed a neutral position, for providing clear rationales and superb feedback for me to build on. I've set up a space for you to provide any further feedback or thoughts, should you feel inclined to. However you voted, thanks for taking the time out to contribute to the process, it's much appreciated. Kind regards, Gazimoff 22:32, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey

Thanks for the welcome. Of course, i'll be the guy absent for days that never makes an edit within weeks and days of one last edit (Mainly because I don't see stuff important to add) but still, thanks. TheSeaIsBlue (talk) 21:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome. Anything you can do to help is great, even if you disappear and reappear randomly :) IceUnshattered (talk) 21:22, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Heh. Good to know. I guess I can count you in as a source of help in this crazy wiki. One of the reasons I won't be here so much is because I'm one of the frequent editors of this wiki. That place was my first wiki, mainly i've been afraid of Wikipedia because it's so freakin' busy! Over at Zelda Wiki, we sometimes go hours without edits. Yet still, we manage to keep a nice, informative wiki. I'm not one to edit articles too much. I'm really here to try what I can do to help. Often i'll be here, just looking at your wiki markup and everything to make Zelda Wiki more professional. Besides, what more of a place to look for help for a wiki then Wikipedia?! You guys are the definition of professional and smart (excluding the vandals). So yeah, i'll be here, gazing at ways to help my other wiki as well as help this place. Oh, and not the only Zelda Wikian here. Matt and Kaoskastle (Ando) are also frequent editors of the same wiki. So yeah...we're here... TheSeaIsBlue (talk) 22:53, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I don't know if this is the right place to write to you - but I am looking for somebody to help me write several bios on Wikipedia. My email address is doug@starservicesdirect.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dougmonahan (talkcontribs) 14:47, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I rm'ed some of that personal info (and btw, sign your posts with "~~~~", so SineBot doesn't have to do it for you). I'm not that experienced with biographies, so try asking some of the users ov'r at Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography. Hope that helped. IceUnshattered (talk) 17:40, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Request

I am the author of the page on Peripartum cardiomyopathy, which you have recently edited. I understand that you may be making changes to this article because you want to improve it for conciseness or otherwise; however, you have deleted critical information by doing so. Because of the nature of this disease, the word-phrasing has been very deliberate with colaboration with and approval of some of the world's leading authorities in peripartum cardiomyopathy, including James D. Fett, MD and others. Please do not continue to alter this particular piece, as you lack the credentials and experience to properly contribute.

Thank you.

Did I? I assume I was using Huggle, and reverted something that appeared to be vandalism. I'm sorry. A diff might be appreciated. Two points - Please sign your posts, I'm sure you know how, and one cannot be the "author" of one page, in my opinion. IceUnshattered (talk) 18:29, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Ohh, wait, I see what I did. Your edit seemed to be adding random numbers to the page. Try using inline citations, because that's what I think you were trying to do. IceUnshattered (talk) 18:31, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for explaining. Apologies for not signing and for the improper wording about so-called "authorship."Admittedly, I am new at Wikipedia and am still in the learning curve. In fact, if you can suggest to me a better way to make my citations more dynamic so that changes won't necessitate manually revising them when changes are made, I would appreciate it.

Thanks. --Erinmartineau (talk) 18:41, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

- :No problem. Try visiting WP:CITE, it might help. If you have the sources, I can probably convert them to inline. Another question - are the references like the first and second refs to books? Or are they papers, or something like that? I'm not sure, so I'm not sure how to format the references. IceUnshattered (talk) 18:46, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

They are references to medical journal articles. Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean when you say, "If you have the sources"? Do you refer to links to the articles? Thanks again. --Erinmartineau (talk) 18:50, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

A source is basically a reliable website/book/article, etc. etc. that you can reference your writing from. WP:CITE explains a lot more. If you have websites, I'm better with those. I've enabled "RefTools" (my preferences --> gadgents), so that usually makes it easier.

Yes, the list under "References" in the peripartum cardiomyopathy article are all medical journal articles. I've just finished reorganizing them, but I would like to do something like you suggested, converting them to inline. I could probably find websites that have abstracts (not the full article). I really appreciate your time and help with this. Would you suggest that I add links the the medical journal abstracts online to the end of each of the citations? What do you need from me to help me convert them to inline? Thank you again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erinmartineau (talkcontribs) 19:17, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Okay, actually, I just realized that I misunderstood what "inline ciation" means. I finished doing that just a bit ago. Do I need to do anything more or anything different, if you would be kind enough to take a glance at the article once more? Thanks for your patience! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erinmartineau (talkcontribs) 19:22, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I'm not sure. Inline citations are where you put in a citation (see my advice with RefTools below) beside the text you're writing. That's where the little numbers a appear, and a formatted citation will appear where you put tthe {{reflist}} template. Here - can you tell me the name of the Journal, Issue #, and Publication date for this cite -

Fett JD, Christie LG, Carraway RD, Sundstrom JB, Ansari AA, Murphy JG. Unrecognized peripartum cardiomyopathy in Haitian women. International Journal Gynaecology Obstetrics 2005; 90:161-6.

- Then I can start entering the correct things into the reference.

What I need is the name of the Journal, Issue #, and Publication date. If you haven't noticed, under the references section is the entry, {{reflist}}. First, go to "my preferences", click on the "gadgets" tab, then enable "refTools" (under "editing gadgets". When you next go to the editing mode of the page, you'll probably see two new buttons at the side. When you click on the "CITE" one, click on "Journal" then enter everything you know in. The reference will format itself for you, you just have to enter it into the correct place, and a little clickable number will appear.

Of course, you use one citation more than once. This page will help you when it comes to that. Once you have everything specified in the example citation I put down, I can start work. IceUnshattered (talk) 19:27, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Actually, since I'm not familiar with this, you might want to try going to a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine to help you. They may be able to help you with citing the medical journals. IceUnshattered (talk) 19:29, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Your advice is very helpful, I really appreciate it. I think I have an idea how to improve my citations now, thank you again very much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erinmartineau (talkcontribs) 19:34, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Film revision

Please don´t delete my adds to the movie Lost and Found (1996 film) again without reason. Talk to me before, if there really is a reason. I´m now working on Metade Fumaca please don´t change them without reason as well. Plz answer, if, on my Talk side, because I´m usually not extremely often in English wiki and might oversea a change on your talk side. Thanks! Trexpro (talk) 02:29, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Curses, I didn't mean to do that. I was using WP:HG and my screen was set so it didn't show anything but the top revision. About that, I thought the only thing you were changing was the title. Could you keep it in English and maybe put the Chinese (pinyin/hanzi) in parentheses or something? Again, I'm sorry. I really should take a break if I don't want my access revoked. Friendly note about talk page messages

Hello. As a recent editor at User talk:71.202.65.243, I wanted to leave you a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk page. While we may prefer that messages be archived, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous users- from deleting comments from their own talk pages. The only talk page messages that may not be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppetry notices, or shared IP header templates (for anonymous editors) ... and these exceptions are just to keep a user from gaming the system. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 16:04, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me. I'll remember this when editing in the future. IceUnshattered [ t ] 16:17, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
