Categories

edit

Please do not add religion, ethnic, or descent categories or information to biography articles without first ensuring that 1) the category is supported by reliably sourced article content and 2) the individual identifies as such. Please see WP:BLPCAT and WP:EGRS for additional information. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:41, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Seems you've already gotten a note about edits like this. Let me repeat:
  • Use edit summaries to explain your edits.
  • Changes to categories need to reflect the content of the article and be sourced. Not just at editorial whim.
  • If you cannot or will not do this, your disruptive editing can and will likely see you ability to edit temporarily suspended to stop the disruption and give you a chance get up to speed on how things are done on Wikipedia.
Thanks,
- J Greb (talk) 22:22, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
This is not appropriate. Consider this a final warning - adding categories in this manner again will result in you being blocked.

Thanks for your additions to the LGBT rights article. However, I think they may be better suited for our article LGBT history, as a lot of the content you've added isn't really about legal status at all. What do you think? –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 23:34, 17 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to Asian American, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. Removed content was reverted per WP:BRD. Continuing to remove content without reaching a consensus could be seen as beginning an edit war. Please discuss the content in the section which already exists on the talk page.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 21:27, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Final warning

edit

I've warned you in the past that the addition of ethnic and descent categories to biography articles when the inclusion is not supported by reliable sources is a violation of BLP policy, yet you continue to add the inappropriate categories. If it continues you will be blocked from editing. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 23:36, 29 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Atlantic slave trade, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Dougweller (talk) 10:37, 17 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

May I suggest moving the article Portrayal of East Asians in Hollywood to Yellowface in Hollywood?

edit

The entire article focuses on the racial injustices against East Asians in Hollywood. If you're that keen on keeping the page with only yellowface-related material than I suggest you move the page. It is important to list East Asians characters that aren't subjected to yellowface. So before we start an edit war, what do you think? I would need some help on starting a non-yellowface list. Lhw1 (talk) 08:36, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes it seems like the current page has all of its focus on yellowface and discrimination and everything else about portrayals of East Asians have pretty much fallen by the wayside. We can move what we have now to Yellowface in media or something similar. And then just have yellowface as a sub-section in the current page, which should really be an article about portrayals of East Asians in general.Lhw1 (talk) 09:14, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good to me. Feel free to take the initiative. I only really identify and tweak articles for mistakes and inconsistencies, but this is a step in the right direction I think. I'll keep an eye out. Lhw1 (talk) 09:52, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your WP:UNDUE additions to leads

edit

Please stop adding those "hungriest nations" rankings to the leads of many articles. They are undue weight for one statistic from one relatively obscure and lesser known source, and at most they can be added to a relevant section in the body. If you continue to re-add them to the lead an administrator will be forced to deal with you accordingly, which of course includes blocks. If you have objections, concerns, or questions you can take it up with an administrator but please follow the general guidelines. Cadiomals (talk) 08:49, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

While I wouldn't rush in and be talking about "blocks" and administrators, I must say that Cadiomals does have a point about the hunger edits, at least in the lead, being undue. kind regards --Merbabu (talk) 10:30, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I don't see it as notable as what she has done on Kill la Kill, which had a run on Adult Swim and is her most notable role. List of breakout characters

edit

  Hi. Please stop adding uncited material to articles, as you did with your edits to List of breakout characters here and here, as this violates Wikipedia's Verifiability policy. As you've been warned about this before, Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here.

In addition, you removed content in another one of your edits, but without explaining why you removed it in your edit summary. When removing material, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. Hi IceBrotherhood, PinkElixir here. I've been working on restructuring the model minority page for a couple months now; I think we can both agree it needs some work. I noticed you recently removed the section about Taiwanese Americans. Could you please explain why you felt it was necessary to remove an entire section? I agree with you that it seemed irrelevant to the topic the way it was written, but some of the information in it could have been intertwined into another section. In addition, I noticed you added unsourced information about Vietnamese and Cambodian immigration. Can you please cite credible sources for that information?

I'm not sure why you are removing entries from this list. If a person is of Asian descent, that is still true even if they are born in Asia. A Chinese person from China is still of Chinese descent. ... discospinster talk 14:09, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

There's already an article called List of Asian Academy Award winners and nominees. The article about descent should have more focus and descent is almost universally used for those born outside of a country of ancestral origin. Rarely is it used for people and citizens from said country or origin. Even if what you say is true it's very seldom used in that context. And this article should have focus and since there's not one an article that focuses on those born outside their country of ancestral origin and those who immigrate out of their country of birth this article is perfect for that. Why create this article and specify descent if you literally have a List of Asian Academy Award winners and nominees article? It defeats the purpose and you only want specific individuals over others just because they're more widely recognised. If you're argument is correct then why don't you transfer every name from the List of Asian Academy Award winners and nominees over to the descent article? Columbus (2017 film)

edit

I'd like to get your opinion on the quality of the article Columbus (2017 film).

I think it is fair to say the article Columbus (2017 film) is better than Start class and at least C class. Even B class maybe? I could just change it based on my own evaluation but I'd prefer to get a second opinion from someone else who is interested in the article.

I can't think of anything obviously missing from the article. I do still think the Plot section is excessively terse but I don't think that needs to be a sticking point.

Your opinion? (I'll check back later, so comment here or reply on the article talk page if you like). -- 109.77.211.63 (talk) 22:28, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
