A message from Tokitaataa edit

Hi I dream of horses.

I would love some feedback on why you rejected my article. Most of the sources are not user generated, I only used user generated sources to verify my D.O.B etc. Do you recommend I remove them?

Thanks for your help Tokitaataa (talk) 06:55, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Tokitaataa The draft you created is sourced not just by user generated sources, but also by interviews, etc. that aren't independent of you as person. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 06:58, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh right, do I need to include interviews about me that don't include me? Is that what you mean by that? Tokitaataa (talk) 07:00, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Tokitaataa: I mean using articles that aren't interviews; use reliable sources that significantly mention you that you didn't have a hand in creating. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 07:03, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah okay, yep that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. I think I added some but I've have a look Tokitaataa (talk) 07:07, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

A message from Hans Theys edit

hello,

my name is Hans someone created a page about my work, which you reviews, finding that there are not enough sources could you give an example of a source? my work has bene revised in the press many many times and it has been written about many many times the only thing we quote are titles of pub listed books these are sources in themselves, no? and at the bottom you'll find Official website of Hans Theys and Virtual International Authority File (VIAF): 14872858 what is missing? can you please help me? Hans

Hans Theys (talk) 09:39, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Hans Theys A good example of a source is one that's has editorial oversight, significantly talks about you, and that you weren't involved in creating. So, non-interview media articles not initiated by a press release, books not published by vanity press, scientific articles, etc. Bad examples would include press releases, interviews with you, or websites without formal editorial oversight. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 09:46, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
thank you, could you please add these sources and undo the deletion of the article?
and if you need more, let me know?
Sources:
I can quote many more if needed
yours sincerely,
Hans Hans Theys (talk) 10:39, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Hans Theys Unfortunately, I can't revert a deletion because I'm not an admin. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 10:40, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
but are the sources sufficient? do you add them or do I?
how does this work? Hans Theys (talk) 10:46, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Hans Theys Yeah, the sources are sufficient. Generally, if someone qualifies for an article, someone else will write about them without any assistance from the article subject, so it's best that someone else do it. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 10:47, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
thank you. someone else did it! her name is prieeltje, I believe. so can it be published now or do you need moire stuff? Hans Theys (talk) 11:26, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Hans Theys I'm not sure, I haven't seen a new draft yet. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 11:27, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
and thank you!!! Hans Theys (talk) 11:27, 14 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Question from Lucifer OLKAA (17:30, 24 September 2022) edit

Hello, I want to add an article in the wikipedia. How can I do this? Please help me. --Lucifer OLKAA (talk) 17:30, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Lucifer OLKAA It's probably better to concentrate on your newcomer tasks for now. If you absolutely have to add an article as part of your job, disclose your job on your userpage and go through articles for creation. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 17:34, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Discussion at Talk:Cyber Anakin § A mountain out of molehill? edit

You are invited to join the discussion at Talk:Cyber Anakin § A mountain out of molehill?. 45.136.197.235 (talk) 19:15, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

I pointed out that you invited people to the discussion, just to make everything above board. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 19:51, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Their removals gave off strange vibe and it would come off as a unrepresentative consensus unless some people with experience in editing that article or BLPs in Internet culture in general are invited to have a say on the matter.45.136.197.235 (talk) 20:06, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I tend to do semi-automated editing. I link your response to me so the vibe doesn't get more strange. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 20:09, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, personally I'd lean more on fixing and rewriting the affected contents there if they're more amendable to that.45.136.197.235 (talk) 20:18, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Question from Techhead16319 (14:23, 26 September 2022) edit

Hey thanks for being a mentor! I was just wondering how I start out editing. Theres a couple of specific topic I am really knowledgable in and I would rather start out small with my edits on information I am certain is correct. More specifically can I edit individual articles/approve for submission or do I have to choose the topic and I will get a random article in the category.

Thanks again and sorry for the long message. All the best Techhead --Techhead16319 (talk) 14:23, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Techhead16319 You can pretty much choose an article and start editing right away without approval. Peoples tendency to correct wrong information is strong enough that, if you make a mistake, it'll get corrected. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 16:16, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
