If you're not a sock of Primetime, then whose sock are you? -Will Beback 06:24, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Will Beback: you are not allowed to block users with whom you are involved in content disputes. I'm not sure what makes you so qualified to judge who is a sockpuppet or not, but given your poor judgement, I think you ought to gather non-judgemental evidence before you block people.--I discovered America 06:31, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
There is no content dispute. You are a banned user. Shoo. -Will Beback 08:55, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Incivil, borderline personal attack

edit

Just a friendly reminder that being nice is not optional. If you make your point in a disspassionate manner, people are more likely to listen. - brenneman {L} 07:50, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Since it appears Will Beback will no longer be following the rules, I see no reason to abide by them, either. As for convincing him, he made up his mind that the "List of ethnic slurs" article should be deleted a long time ago.--I discovered America 08:58, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hi Primetime. Your comments, edits, and attitude make your identity clear. And no other editor would go to the trouble of using open proxies to edit "List of ethnic slurs". This isn't personal, it's just that your vision of an encyclopedia is different from that of Jimbo Wales and the rest of the community. There are many unrelated encyclopedias that might welcome your participation. But there has been a parting of the ways between you and this project. Please respect the fact that we are trying to build something here, and that we don't agree on how to do it. -Will Beback 09:16, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Can you provide a more precise set of reasons? While the above "I see no reason to abide by them" comments don't bode well, I'd hate to block someone as a sock who isn't. - brenneman {L} 14:49, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Primetime has been proven to be a serial plagiarist and a liar. He disrupted dozens of article on several Wikimedia projects with massive copyvios, but his main article was "List of ethnic slurs". On that topic he was an all-out inclusionist, who vetoed schemes to improve the article's sourcing and lobbied intensely in its favor during an AfD. After that AfD he began doing some sourcing to delay the removal of material. While we were figuring out his plagiarism he acted conciliatory, but once he was discovered and banned (by Jimbo) he became belligerent.
This new username, "IdA", appeared out of nowhere as soon as someone suggested a restriction on the article. IdA is familiar with the article, with my involvement in it, is belligerent, and is inclusionist. He then edited the article to further the sourcing scheme that Primetime started. A checkuser request indicated he was using open proxies, meaning he was making conscious attempts to hide his identity.
This username is clearly a sock of someone, since no new user is ever familiar with our footnoting systems. Primetime has used a few dozen socks, mostly returning to articles that he'd previously edited. He may have used other socks on the "List of ethnic slurs" previously, but if so they haven't been obvious. So his re-appearance there has been expected.
BTW, Primetime sent emails begging to be unblocked, making empty promises and even flat-out lies. Don't be surprised if you get one. Be careful about answering - he added me and another editor to spam and junk mail lists.

In response to your earlier statement: I take your actions very personally. After you came to the conclusion that I spammed your e-mail address, you began personally deleting my contributions. I'm glad that you're not insulting me verbally anymore, like Calton does. But, it's the old question: "Is it OK to kick someone if you have a smile on your face?" You're still reverting my edits, even though I'm making those trivial edits to finish up here. There's absolutely no reason for me to leave because (1) you're baiting me to come back, (2) you've squandered all of your leverage (you would have had my balls in a vice grip if you had left some of my articles, perhaps the public-domain ones) and (3) again, you're not letting me finish my business.--I discovered America 06:18, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Your business is finished here. I'm not baiting you to come back. Go away. -Will Beback 06:35, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
