July 2018 edit

Hello, I'm Donner60. An edit you recently made to Agalychnis callidryas seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 02:51, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

The following quote from a Wikipedia guideline page is relevant here: "Wikipedia's content is determined by previously published information rather than by the personal beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it. The policy says that all material challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, needs a reliable source; what counts as a reliable source is described in Wikipedia:Verifiability." The acceptability of your edit was weakened by the fact that you added repetitive words to the sentence. I am sorry that the template only allowed me to point out one issue and I should have left a separate message and the following:

Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources; Wikipedia:Citing sources; Help:Footnotes are the guideline pages. The footnotes page shows the ways of adding footnotes. You may find a few of these more complicated but one or two are straightforward. Donner60 (talk) 03:16, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Good work. I added to the format to prevent it from being a bare URL which you will sometimes see in articles but it is discouraged as not a full citation. Donner60 (talk) 03:31, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
