Hi All,

I've only been a Wikipedian for a short period of time, but as a result of a malicious and unwarranted SockPuppet investigation against me by User:Ash I have decided that I no longer wish to particpate in this project.

As a result, I have this evening reverted all edits that I have made to any Wikipedia pages. All of those pages are now back to the original state in which I found them.

It is a shame, as I hoped to contribute to this project, but the Troll-like behaviour of User:Ash has made me realize that I no longer want to be a part of this project. I no longer will tolerate the hard work that I do being disrespected by a user that clearly (from his contribution history) does not have a high level of knowledge in the areas related to the works that he is disrespecting. A large majority of the edits by User:Ash are related to gay-porn, yet he found it necessary to bite newcomers working on a section of Wikipedia relating to Internet Governance.

Sorry for any incovenience I have caused others.

Signing off,

P.S. Please do not fee the trolls !!!

Response edit

I requested an independent investigation due to an apparent blatant use of sock-puppet accounts. I have made no accusations, though I did point out SPA and SOCK guidance for your attention in the AfD before raising the SPI. I believe an investigation is warranted due to to the style and timing of contributions which make it unlikely that sock-puppet activity has not taken place. Whether particular accounts are truly used by the same person or not I have no idea, the edits made are sufficient for investigation.

If you know that the contributions from other accounts were coincidence, then collaborating with the investigation would be helpful to find out what happened. Ash (talk) 09:11, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Of course I know that the contributions from other accounts were coincidence. I know this because I have absolutely no clue who these people are. But the fact that I have had to go through this process, which I believe to be malicious, I have no interested in dedicating my efforts to this process. You may be wondering why I feel this process has been malicious:
    • Why was User:Minipc101 even dragged into the SPI? They made no comments whatsoever on the AfD?
    • User:Minipc101 merely made valid edits to another page to bring it up to date.
    • I believe that you were just disgruntled that other people did not take sides the same side as you and went out of your way to do anything and everything to discredit them.
    • This was a clear effort to "bite the newcomers"
    • I also question your decision making capabilities. Based on the your contribution history, I believe that you do not have the level of knowledge required to question the notability of someone related to Internet Governance. It is obvious that you have lots of knowledge in other areas and your contributions there have been substantial. Why don't you focus your efforts there and leave articles related to Internet Governance to those who are experienced enough to deal with them.

I have made no claims about my expertise, one way or the other. Specialist expertise is not a prerequisite when raising an article for deletion or a sock-puppet investigation. As the person starting an AfD or requesting a SPI has no control over the end result of these processes, you can rest assured that your questions about my competence are irrelevant. If you wish to complain about my behaviour, a number of dispute resolution processes are available. In this case you may find the guidance of WP:WQA or WP:ANI helpful. It would be fairly easy to report me on either forum if you feel you have a case. Ash (talk) 18:10, 29 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
