Proposed deletion of Aida Rodriguez

edit

The article Aida Rodriguez has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. {{helpme}}

I am enjoying editing on Wikipedia and I hope to contribute a lot more! I actually do need {{helpme}} or is it {{helpme}} I have links to articles that mention this information about Ms. Aida Rodriguez but I'm not sure how to edit the reference section not sure I understand

Thank you! iNaturalDiva INaturalDiva (talk) 13:41, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Have you read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, as suggested? Algebraist 13:46, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I am there now reading it and attempted to update the article but now it is saying that I have conflicting changes that must be merged. INaturalDiva (talk) 13:51, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

If two people edit the article at the same time, that results in an Edit conflict. The version that is live is shown in the upper box, and your own version is shown in the lower box. It is necessary to manually re-add your edits to the upper box.  Chzz  ►  14:03, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I love how fast the communication is on here! Thank you, I was able to re add my edits.

This reference on my article Aida Rodriguez is coming up with a blocked URL

If I am adding a reference for example I will put:

References

edit

[1] The Black Box Office

Is this correct? INaturalDiva (talk) 16:52, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

No. What you should do is put the reference at the point in the text where it is relevant, between <ref> </ref> markers, and then at the end of the article, after a "references" heading, put either {{reflist}} or <references/>. That will come out as a reference number in the article text, and the actual reference listed at the bottom. Full explanation at WP:CITE.
You have done that right with the examiner.com reference in the article; the trouble with that is that examiner.com is on the Mediawiki blacklist, so you can't insert a link to it. I don't know why it's on the blacklist - the usual reason is that someone was persistently spamming links to it despite warnings to stop. You will just have to do without that reference. JohnCD (talk) 17:08, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Awesome I understand the difference now! I tried it out on page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Yonny if you don't mind please take a look at it and see if my references are enough to keep it away from being marked for deletion while I add more content. Best regards. INaturalDiva (talk) 17:49, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

{{help me}} Young Yonny article has been tagged as orphaned, there are several Wikipedia pages that mention Young Yonny, how would I go about linking them to this page This article is an orphan, as few or no other articles link to it. Please introduce links to this page from related articles; suggestions may be available. (October 2010) INaturalDiva (talk) 21:16, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Find the articles that have Young Yonny in them and add link brackets to the name so that it shows as [[Young Yonny]] in the edit window, when you save it the name will show in blue indicating a valid link to Young Yonny  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:34, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
