Welcome! edit

Hi I-ready Fan, welcome to Wikipedia! Check out Wikipedia:User pages to learn about user pages. It's a spot where you can write something about yourself if you like, so that other editors can get a sense of your interests and perspective. You can see my user page here: User:Dreamyshade. I use it to tell fellow editors a little bit about me and show off some work here that I'm proud of. User pages are entirely optional. Please let me know if you have other questions, happy to try to help.

And thank you for making a few contributions already! I just wanted to give a couple of tips to help with your next edits. In your edit here, the cited source (the page at https://gallowayus.com/project/west-lake-junior-high-school/) says the project is supposed to finish in August 2023. This means that we can't just update the date in the text without finding a new published source for the information. It's good to use personal knowledge to identify that something is incorrect or outdated, but for example, a better way to address that problem would be to remove the outdated information from the article. In your edit here, another editor reverted the edit with a note I wanted to point out in case you missed it: "reference to clearly identified wikipedia mirror per WP:CIRCULAR".

It often takes some time to learn the details of editing Wikipedia, so I'd encourage not getting discouraged by corrections or reverted edits, just good to learn from them. Dreamyshade (talk) 00:26, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Nice work to find a better source on West Lake Junior High! Looks like you added a reference as a URL, which is fine, but you can also add details about the source to help readers in case the link breaks. Check out the step-by-step guide here: Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor/1. Let me know if you have any questions. Dreamyshade (talk) 15:58, 10 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Mirrors edit

Thanks for contributing to the article Hunter High School. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Infoboxes edit

Hi! Check out Help:Infobox for background info and instructions. It might help to try some experiments in your sandbox page, such as copying-and-pasting an existing infobox and modifying it, since infobox formatting can be a little tricky. Dreamyshade (talk) 23:15, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
