Translations for cannabis categories in Finnish? edit

Hello, I've been grouping together cannabis articles by country in eight languages now, but since I don't understand Finnish grammar I'm not sure how to create the parallel categories on fi.wiki. Could you please tell me the correct Finnish category names for the following?

  • Cannabis in the United States
  • Cannabis in India
  • Cannabis in Finland
  • Cannabis by country

If you can tell me those, I can build the category tree. Thanks! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 04:59, 13 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney: Kannabis Yhdysvalloissa, Kannabis Intiassa, Kannabis Suomessa, Kannabis maittain. "Category" is "Luokka" fi-wiki. --hydrox (talk) 13:25, 13 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Excellent, I didn't want to get those complex case-endings wrong. Here'a what I linked in: fi:Luokka:Kannabis maittain. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 13:50, 13 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I've attempted a machine-translation to fi:Kannabis Suomessa, would you mind taking a look to see if it could use some quick cleanup? And as noted at the top of Cannabis in Finland there is some existing Finnish content in other articles that could be copied over. Thanks! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 21:45, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Another question, what's the translation of Category:Cannabis smoking? I can make a cat from that. And out of curiosity, is your username based on the Hydrox cookies, or is it a different Finnish reference? Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 04:59, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney: Heh, that's almost understandable. I cleaned it up a bit. It's now essentially on par with the English article. One could of course look into copying fi:Kannabis#Suomi to the main article and editing that section to a summary. --hydrox (talk) 22:08, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks again for helping expand coverage! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 22:12, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Quick follow-up question: what would be the proper Finnish term equivalent for Category:Cannabis trafficking? Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 05:03, 23 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney: [[Luokka:Kannabiksen salakuljetus]] --hydrox (talk) 17:22, 23 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Excellent, thanks again! By all means, tell me if you get tired of me asking Finnish questions. If you're not tired, one more question for now: proper translation of Category:Films about cannabis? Thanks! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 05:35, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney: No problem, happy to help :) That would be Luokka:Kannabisaiheiset elokuvat and it would go under fi:Luokka:Päihdeaiheiset elokuvat (Films about drugs) --hydrox (talk) 22:33, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Great, added! I can figure out cats in a lot of languages, but Finnish is a complete mystery to me... Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 22:53, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

How about Category:Preparations of cannabis? Creating that one would help cut down the clutter at the main Finnish cannabis cat, lots of article to subcategories. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 08:56, 30 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney: Luokka:Kannabisvalmisteet. And yes, Finnish is indeed quite unlike most other European languages.. Impressed to see you putting all the effort to untangle the categories in a completely foreign language! --hydrox (talk) 19:46, 30 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I enjoy language puzzles! Two more for whenever you have a moment: category:Cannabis smoking and Category:Cannabis culture. Thanks as always! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 11:05, 31 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney: Luokka:Kannabiksen polttaminen and Luokka:Kannabiskulttuuri, respectively. --hydrox (talk) 20:52, 31 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Awesome, I think the category is now sufficiently subdivided, thanks for the help. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 21:51, 31 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Great, thank you for the effort! --hydrox (talk) 19:41, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Finnish Prime Ministers edit

hydrox, the IP user doesn't seem to be interested in the talk page, and he has recieved several warnings for his behaviour before. He has violated the 3RR rule at List of Prime Ministers of Finland (so have I, unfortunately) and at Juha Sipilä. Could you please report him? I'm a bit reluctant to do it since I have also offended in this case. --Marbe166 (talk) 20:39, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Marbe166: Reported. I hoped he would have at least participated on the talk page, but carrying on the edit-warring after all the warnings and invitation to discuss is just too much. --hydrox (talk) 21:03, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Select Survey Invite edit

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Your survey Link: http://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_2ofArK3nednJbJH&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 12:45, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wanha edit

Loit vuonna 2010 Wikipediaan uudelleenohjaussivun Wanha. En ole koskaan kuullut Vanhasta Ylioppilastalosta käytettävän tuota nimitystä, se on aina Vanha eikä Wanha. Käytetäänkö nimitystä Wanha oikeasti jossain? JIP | Talk 17:22, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Nyt kyllä on niin wanha juttu että ei mitään käryä. Kuullostaa turhalta. "Wanha ylioppilastalo" antaa aivan pari Google-tulosta. Olen näköjään massaluonut tuona päivänä redirectejä pääartikkeliin, ja tuo on voinut sinne lipsahtaa vailla sen suurempaa tutkimusta. --hydrox (talk) 17:53, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
@JIP: So as per above, since you are an admin, I think you can delete the Wanha redirect since I as the creator and sole contributor agree with you that it is invalid. I placed the speedy deletion template there as well. --hydrox (talk) 21:22, 4 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
