Speedy deletion of Kambri Crews edit

A tag has been placed on Kambri Crews requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles. Writing an article; hope this helps edit

I would start by reading the article Writing Your First Article. The problems I remember from the piece that got deleted boiled down to tone and content.

Tone: Wikipedia deliberately strives for an encyclopedic style and tone: flat, neutral, just-the-facts: think vintage Jack Webb as Joe Friday. We don't want anything that smacks of the press release, publicity flyer, or press kit: nothing promotional or vanity-stroking, nothing with peacock words or superlatives; more New York Times than Variety.

Content: If this person has accomplished a thing, tell us about that thing, with a citation to a reliable source that spends significant time talking about the subject. We need those verifiable citations to reliable sources to establish whether this person is notable. Lots of admirable people are not notable, and will never get articles here. Reference those citations (help for that is here). --Orange Mike | Talk 15:13, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Hy Bender edit

The article Hy Bender has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of meeting WP:AUTHOR or WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
