Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:DealerRater edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:DealerRater, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. creffett (talk) 01:53, 16 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional.   Hello, Hurwith2. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Drafting new articles edit

Hi. One tip I'd give you is to be careful with your sources and not use any that are either written by or sponsored by the subject of the article. My second suggestion is that you begin by editing existing articles and wait until you've got your eye in before trying to create brand-new ones. Deb (talk) 15:23, 16 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Deb. I am happy to remove sources that are connected to the company. After editing other pages, do you think I can try to republish? Also, I found another company Wiki page that I thought was a good template - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HomeAdvisor. They mentioned similar stats and achievements. Was this a good comp to use? Deb

Deb, the other reviewer did not think the page warranted a deletion. "@Hurwith2: Huh, I am rather surprised to see Deb deleted it. I certainly didn't think it was that bad (I believe I said it was worth merging with another article), but since I am not an admin I no longer have access to the article... –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 15:47, 16 July 2019 (UTC)"Reply

Hurwith2, before you continue, would you mind playing the Wikipedia Adventure for me? It helps new users get used to editing Wikipedia. Cheers, –MJLTalk 17:47, 16 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
HomeAdvisor isn't a good example, in its present state, and I'll be looking at it more closely. (You might also have a look at Wikipedia:Arguments_to_avoid_in_deletion_discussions#What_about_article_x? I think MJL just forgot what he'd said in his review. See what I've written on his talk page.
