Review of K. Ramesh Reddy edit

Hi User: Humedalez, nice work on creating a new article for K. Ramesh Reddy. That's a lot of work to create new article and you've done a nice job pulling this article together. I'm a data scientist at the USGS and I've added some suggestions that I hope will improve the article you've put together.

  • I suggest adding the scientist infobox to the article - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_scientist with a quick summary of the page for K. Ramesh Reddy. This helps for search engines to create links between scientists and their fields and makes these articles more discoverable
  • I suggest adding hyperlinks to other Wikipedia articles for important terms when they are first introduced. e.g. University of Florida, biogeochemical cycling, wetlands, Lake Okeechobee, etc...
  • I think you should add a reference to Reddy's textbook when you mention it in the first paragraph
  • I suggest removing the parenthetical years and making the sentence a little more conversational - e.g. "In 1965, Reddy received his bachelor of science in Agriculture from A.P. Agricultural University, India, followed by his master of science in Agriculture in 1967 from the same university." I think you should do something similar for the rest of the paragraph where you state the years in parentheses.
  • Good work on the summary of Reddy's research
  • I suggest changing the 'Major Publications' section to 'Selected Publications'
  • You use 'Dr. Reddy' when referring to the article's subject. The Wikipedia manual of style for referring to academics is to only refer to "Dr." or "Professor" X when that person is widely known by a pseudonym or stage name containing that title (see guidance here). So I recommend dropping the "Dr." when referring to K. Ramesh Reddy throughout the article and just use "Reddy". Even Dr. Oz is referred to as just "Oz" in his Wikipedia page.

Nice work and let me know if you have any questions / concerns Jayzlimno (talk) 21:01, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
