Mainland China edit

Do you understand in what way are "Mainland China" and "People's Republic of China" different? Stop portray Hong Kong and Macau like they are not part of the People's Republic of China. They are not and will never be independent sovereign states like Singapore.

Stop making useless edits to redirects. [1] [2] [3] - Privacy 06:12, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I find this incredibly funny. Quite on the contrary, you are portraying HK and Macau as separate from the rest of China, by enforcing the "I, not I" dichotomy so commonly discussed on in academic discourse. So quit the pretentions and give yourself a reality check.
As for "useless" edits, in what way are they useless, and in what way are they less useful than your edits?--Huaiwei 06:32, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
With this edit you are saying Hong Kong banks are foreign to the People's Republic of China, portraying Hong Kong as not part of the People's Republic. [4] What is true is that they are foreign to mainland China. - Privacy 21:37, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Is something is not foreign to the PRC, but is foreign to Mainland China, I suppose you are attempting to argue that Mainland China is foreign to the PRC?--Huaiwei 16:23, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Do you know according to Hong Kong laws, all currencies other than Hong Kong dollar are foreign currencies? In other words the RMB is a foreign currency. According to mainland China laws, banks from Hong Kong are foreign in mainland China. It is ridiculous, illogical and secessionist to say Hong Kong banks are foreign in the People's Republic of China. - Privacy 17:22, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Very interesting twist of words. Kindly define what "mainland China laws" are, and if they are different from the laws of the PRC?--Huaiwei 17:40, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Laws of the People's Republic of China that are not listed in the Annex III of either of the basic laws of Hong Kong and Macau. - Privacy 17:43, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I really don't think Privacy (talk · contribs) is a sock of Instantnood (talk · contribs). --Ideogram 18:50, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Neither am I entirely convinced it's a full on sock. I am convinced there is a relation though. Some of the peculiar grammar of Instantnood has been used by Privacy, and there are some strange punctuation edits that Privacy makes that only Instantnood has made before. SchmuckyTheCat 01:27, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
They are probably both from Hong Kong, if that matters. --Ideogram 01:47, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I actually have doubts they are socks too, but the more each of these users "contribute" to this site, the more evidence gets built up.--Huaiwei 16:02, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh my god, they were really all socks. I was soo wrong ... --Ideogram 22:53, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Secrecy edit

And I'm not to suspect that you are Secrecy? That user is obviously created as a counterpart to Privacy, if Privacy is suspected as a sockpuppet of Instantnood. Lexicon (talk) 16:06, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Suspicions are not invalidated, no. However, accusations of sockpuppetry against two established users by a newbie who is obviously a sockpuppet himself without some evidence to back it up probably should not be left to stand. Lexicon (talk) 16:24, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
If you have good reason to suspect that they are the same person, and that Privacy was used to evade a community ban on Instantnood, why don't you file an RFCU? Lexicon (talk) 15:12, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why doesn't somebody just file checkuser requests for these two accounts and resolve the matter officially? Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 18:54, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Checkuser can only prove someone is a sock, not that they aren't. --Ideogram 18:59, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
You're talking about the possibility that someone switches to another IP to use the sock, right? Still, there's the possibility that they did not do this and are using the same IPs. Actually, have any policies been violated because of these two accounts? Namely, any 3RR violations? I have not been keeping track of these two accounts, but socks are perfectly allowed as long as they are not used to circumvent policy. I've had "run-ins" with Instantnood just like a lot of other editors, but these sockpuppetry accusations are pointless unless these two accounts were used to circumvent policy. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 19:16, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Huaiwei (and Instantnood) were banned briefly recently. But Secrecy (and Privacy) were editing actively before that, too. --Ideogram 20:01, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
As to policy, Instantnood has an added feature to his probation/blocks that he can't edit categories or change categories. As soon as I pointed that out to his latest showing and revert warring on categories, he disappeared again and Privacy re-appeared and re-applied all of Instantnoods category changes. SchmuckyTheCat 01:25, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think it's obvious that Privacy is sympathetic to Instantnood. It's not a violation of policy for him to take over making the edits his friend can't make. Actually, I think Privacy got interested in massive category reorganization after he noticed me trying to fix ROC/Taiwan related categories. --Ideogram 01:50, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, there is also User:Axtro, User:Porkie Chopie, User:Passer-by, User:Michael G. Davis. New accounts don't just show up and start caring about obscure WP topics like stub-sorting. I haven't had time yet to point out all the similarities but Privacy = Instantnood is a case that can be made. It's more than sympathy once you start seeing unique grammar on talk pages and such. It's possible the Privacy account is shared. SchmuckyTheCat 02:11, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Only Privacy is really revert-warring at this time, so he's the only one we have to worry about. I really don't think Instantnood is the type to sockpuppet, but we can always go to RFCU. --Ideogram 02:19, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I would actually think Privacy is forcefully creating all those mainland China related categories due to the "stubwars" in Template:China-geo-stub‎, Template:China-struct-stub‎, etc, where nood and company's advances were rejected on the grounds that no corresponding Mainland China-related perm cats exists. Privacy seems to believe that his unilateral creation will be enough to "fool" the folks over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting.--Huaiwei 16:13, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser is a process to be considered as a last resort. Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets is a more appriopriate avenue for preliminary investigations, and will require some research first, which takes time and effort to collate. I wonder if any of you are interested to assist me in this little "project"?--Huaiwei 16:16, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it will take a few days. I think this is a better route than rfcu anyways. SchmuckyTheCat 16:28, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't think I will have much to contribute, but keep me informed. --Ideogram 17:39, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks alot. I have also dropped a notice in User:Alai's talkpage to prewarn him over a potential stubwar.--Huaiwei 17:54, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't think Secrecy (talk · contribs) is a sock of Huaiwei (talk · contribs) either. --Ideogram 19:00, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have no idea what connection Secrecy might have to Huaiwei, or Privacy might have to Instantnood, but at a minimum they should be aware that if they engage in the sort of behaviour that got the latter pair sanctioned by the arbcom, they're likely to be subject to similar meaures themselves (whether via a fresh arbcom determination, or by extrapolation on the part of the community). Obviously if either is an actual sockpuppet, more speedy sanctions can and would be applied. Alai 19:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

We don't have to wonder anymore. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 00:48, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Despite our suspicions, this still comes as a shock. Instantnood is actually quite a talented impersonator! :D Anyway, where do we go from here now? Are the "contributions" made by the socks worth a relook now, particularly the damage wrought in the past month or so? Btw I notice most of the Mainland China-related cats has since been deleted, except for a few.--Huaiwei 01:52, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's a pity. I always felt Instantnood could be a great contributor if he only learnt to compromise a little and stop doing mass renaming of articles and categories. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 02:15, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
In previous instances I'd always given him the benefit of the doubt about running socks and respecting being banned. And even though I'm often first to run to dispute resolution when he pulled stunts, I always said he should stay a contributor. That is sad, because now it is shown he doesn't respect the project itself over his own need to get his ideas into it. SchmuckyTheCat 15:24, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

greetings huaiwei. please help. it has been previously agreed that (at least for that of changi airport's page) we should put Taipei-Taoyuan Intl and not Taipei-Taiwan Taipei . please tell 218.186.9.4 about this because apparently he choose to keep reverting it to the Taiwan's version. If he insist on adding taiwan, i suggest we remove the airport's name altogether since there is no ambiguity as there is only one international airport in taipei. thank you for your help

Re:Future MRT Map edit

Hello, and thanks for the comments and suggestions!
Ill be doing these minor corrections of careless mistakes + CCL Extension, basically what has been announced by LTA as of date later.
After that, I'll add on the Eastern Region Loop, Circle Line from Marina Bay to Promenade, and seperate the lines, as another map which projects more into the future. I have a strong inclination too, that DTL would be split up into BTL and ERL in future too, what with that odd loop in the DTL, and the Marina Parade Section :)

S'pore GP edit

Hi mate, can you please add it to the appropriate current events page (SE Asia and sports)? We didn't mention Valencia on the main current events page, and only finals of major sports events are mentioned on the main current events page. Thanks. – Chacor 13:47, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

See explanation in [10]. This news generated over 200 news sources on google news search, so I am sure this is attracted lots of attention.--Huaiwei 13:59, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Valencia was announced just two days ago. And we didn't add that. We don't add minor sporting events to the main page - the sports subpage exists for a reason. Only finals go on the main current events page - this is arguably not of international significance - people could easily say "it's just a night race" - it's not a new thing in motorsport. – Chacor 14:03, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
You have the option to add the news on Valencia. To say something isnt in existance as the sole criterion to delete another is not very convincing. Kindly read up on news related to this announcement before deciding for the rest of the world that it is "just a night race" and is insignificant to the history of F1.--Huaiwei 14:05, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

SPF most wanted list edit

Hey Huaiwei... this one should be easy since you're a police guy.

Do you know whether the SPF still puts a list of 10 most wanted criminals online? I read they put it online for the first time in 1996 but I can't find it on their website, if it's still there. It used to be here but the page just redirects to their main page now. I don't know if any of them are worth researching for new articles, but I'd like to give the list a look first. Resurgent insurgent 18:54, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmm....I doubt there are any such lists published online now. If you would like to find notable criminals, think there are plenty in our criminal history...True Files may give some clues (I wrote Lee Kim Lai from there). We did have some spectacular crimes which would seem unthinkable today. Anyway, me a police guy? ;)--Huaiwei 14:19, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Nlb.PNG) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Nlb.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:52, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your block log for 3rr is a mile long. The 3RR rule says in part: "The rule does not convey an entitlement to revert three times each day, nor does it endorse reverting as an editing technique; rather, the rule is an "electric fence". Editors may still be blocked even if they have not made more than three reverts in any given 24 hour period, if their behavior is clearly disruptive." and "Many administrators give less leniency to users who have been blocked before, and may block such users for any disruptive edit warring, even if they do not exceed three reverts on a page in 24 hours."

I have also blocked Sparrowman980 for edit-warring on the same article. When the block expires, please discuss the desired change on the article's talk page. This, particularly in the context of an ongoing edit-war, is not discussion.--Chaser - T 06:00, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

A month and a half should be enough time to get Singapore and Singapore 2006 to GA status, if other SGpedians pull their weight. --J.L.W.S. The Special One 02:46, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

3RR edit

I saw your 3RR report about Sparrowman980's edits at World's largest airlines. It should be noted, though, that you've also broken the 3RR, so any sysop that blocks Sparrowman980 should really block you too. Personally, I agree that the Qantas image should be taken down, as it's not the largest airline in the world by almost any reasonable criteria (maybe largest airline with a kangaroo-shaped logo?). So, if you withdraw and blank the 3RR report, I won't stop you ... though there's nothing stopping Sparrowman980 from reporting you and getting you both blocked later. — Rebelguys2 talk 05:25, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Understandable. I've had a lot of problems with him in the past, too, particularly in regard to copyright violations and, more recently, grammar and style. But, as far as this issue goes: What, do you just want me to block both of you for 24 hours? — Rebelguys2 talk 05:39, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's because there are better ways to do this than just reverting his edits, because he'll just revert back. You can bring stuff up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airlines or ask administrators for help, and after those methods are exhausted, you can go to dispute resolution, report an incident, or open up a request for comment. But, don't worry, I've been following his contributions and cleaning up his mess for quite a while now ... — Rebelguys2 talk 05:53, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
And the barnstar thing, yeah, that's what I figured too. But all I did was chuckle to myself, because it's a pretty stupid thing to get angry or annoyed about. — Rebelguys2 talk 05:54, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, sure. Just leave a descriptive edit summary so people know what you're doing. — Rebelguys2 talk 06:00, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

What did you do to get BillCJ and Sparrowman980 so upset about? I hope you can talk some sense into them.

Kosovo: country debate edit

Hello. There's a discussion going on Talk:List of countries as to whether or not Kosovo should be included in that list. You've contributed to discussions on the page and I thought you might be interested. The articles List of countries and Annex to the list of countries (where the inclusion criteria reside) are both relevant. Cheers. DSuser 13:44, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. It's probably a minor point, but there a discussion and vote going on at Talk:Kosovo#Kosovo:_terminology as to whether or not it's better to use Kosovo rather than Kosovan or Kosovar in the Wikipedia articles. Perhaps you have no interest, in which case sorry to bother you! DSuser 15:53, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of hotels in Singapore edit

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article List of hotels in Singapore, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Pascal.Tesson 20:49, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Russavia edit

Please do not drag me into disputes you may have with other editors. [11] You may have legitimate concerns with Russavia but I did not egg him on and I'd appreciate it if you struck out that comment which completely misrepresents my actions. Thank you. Pascal.Tesson 18:47, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Let me ask you nicely again: I am not part of your dispute. This was my very first contact with him, this is my very first contact with you and this series of deletion was my first contact with Singapore articles. I did not encourage him to submit more deletions, I reminded him of speedy deletion which, whether you like it or not was highly relevant because of Shangi-La spammer Slim2006 (talk · contribs). As a matter of fact, I even advised Russavia to take a deep breath when he suggested the deletion of the list of banks in Singapore [12]. The note you left on that AfD is clearly insinuating that I'm at fault and that I'm using Russavia as a proxy. It's unfair and I would appreciate it if you struck it out. List of hotels in Singapore edit

The "Singapore-centrism" I remarked upon was more of an observation of the arguments rather than the deletion rationale. But let's ignore that (I'm willing to strike that comment out) and look at the arguments. I usually use weighing of the arguments as my deletion rationale, so let me break the keep arguments down:

  • Kappa: "it's (obviously) useful to be able to find wikipedia articles about hotels in specific areas of Singapore" — that's the exact definition of a travel guide and/or a directory (WP:NOT#TRAVEL, WP:NOT#DIR)
  • Yours: "Unless this list contains nothing but full addressess and contact numbers etc, it dosent work as a "directory", and is hardly useful as a "travel guide". This is nothing more than a simple Wikipedia:Lists, and that is permissable in wikipedia. Otherwise, I will be questioning the existance of List of airports in Russia, for example." — Okay, it's debatable, but acceptable rebuttal. Your last sentence was WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTSy, though.
  • KamrynMatika2: "evidently useful list. An article being in poor shape is not a reason for deleting it (or we would lose 90% of our content)." — Essentially a word-for-word WP:USEFUL argument.
  • Hildanknight: "admonish nominator in the interests of fighting systemic bias" — I mean, come on. It doesn't even address the deletion rationale.
  • Sengkang: ...[nothing] — In cases like this, I, as a closing admin, will have to toss this out.

I hope this is detailed enough, but please tell me if you want more answers. Thanks! —Kurykh 02:47, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh yes, I think I should tell you that mostly, when there are comments after my closing decisions, they tend to be more of observations of the AfD instead of actual deletion rationales. I usually give deletion rationales only upon request. I apologize if it confused you (and others). —Kurykh 02:51, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD works on the same principle as WP:V; that is, delete until proven worthy of keeping. Usually, such decisions are clear-cut; the nomination rationale may be frivolous (ending in speedy keep), wrongheaded (ending in keep), states the obvious (ending in delete), or policy or copyright violation (ending in speedy delete).

But I digress. You say "It has been argued that the list provides more information than a mere alphabetical list of hotels...," but that argument has indeed been contested by Pascal.Tesson below Luckyluke's comment. To state otherwise would have been to miss threaded discussion within the debate. —Kurykh 03:15, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The closing rationale of the closing admin is, by default, "per consensus," "per the weighing of arguments in the discussion," "per discussion," or alternate wordings thereof. So technically, I have no "deletion rationale," just a closing one. (sorry for the semantics, but there is a difference, however subtle) —Kurykh 03:18, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can let you userfy the deleted contents if you wish. —Kurykh 03:24, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

... take on 'nood's latest sock. It makes you look like you're edit warring with a new user. SchmuckyTheCat

Yah, i've been following Qaka and labelling his edits as sockpuppetry for awhile. If you take him on directly, it risks bringing up old edit prohibitions from ArbCom that I am trying to get removed. If you revert him, be explicit in the edit summary that you are removing contributions from an instantnood sock. SchmuckyTheCat
Bring up the artificial islands to me again after this latest sock goes away. I think we agree that bridge piers aren't important enough to list as artificial islands (c'mon, I can list about 300 off the top of my head). But the HKIA is a major artificial island. Anyways, wait until this blows over and we can discuss civilly without distraction. SchmuckyTheCat

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Valueair Logo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Valueair Logo.gif.

Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:10, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your edit on parent company of Singapore Airlines edit

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Singapore Airlines. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Thank you. --Russavia 14:31, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

If my memory serves me well, a user has been constantly adding potentially controversial edits to the above said article without a word in the talkpage either. I would strongly recommend this user to do some serious soul-searching first before he thinks he has any moral grounds to post comments such as the above.--Huaiwei 14:56, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Kent Ridge Park edit

To move this discussion forward constructively, it wld be easier & logical to rename the above article to "Kent Ridge" & keep its content intact with just minor modifications on its intro. I disagree to split the article into 2 standalone parts as it will become a 'waterdown' version in content for both. Besides, it wld be against wat I had set to do as per my Wikipedia aspirations esp after putting so much time & efforts (incl. site-visits) in the first place. Moreover, who knows tat in near future, someone may nominate to combine both back & may make a mess out with another debate on its 'similarities' or 'differences' again. Right? As the article is currently under DYK review (tat's y i choose to discuss this issue on yr talkpage instead), please proceed with the nec amendments & additions if u like such as NUS, Clementi Woods & other interesting landmarks or geograhical features tat lies on the Ridge et cetera after Aug 23 so that we can have a final & positive closure on this issue once & for all. -- Aldwinteo 14:26, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi again, I'm glad that u accepted my earlier proposal as being fair for both parties concerned. 8) Being a PMP myself, I hate to have loose ends hanging whether in work or in this personal Wikipedia project in which i'm undertaking, in helping to raise the quality & profile of SG articles on behalf of the SGpedian community. As my personal efforts r limited, tat's y i came up with the 'Guidelines' for new SG article submissions earlier. Fyi, my involvement for SGpedia wont be for long 'cos of heavy work commitments & overseas travels (I embarked on Wiki after my return from an overseas assignment in late March) As u r a noted 'Defender' of SGpedia, I wld be most grateful if u can 'jaga' my existing works while I'm on wiki-break or no longer around in SG one day. 'Cos usually when my recent works are featured on Wikipedia's Main Page, they were vandalised repeatedly on quite a few occasions afterwards & even a Buddhism-related article was not spared! (See here). Thk u for yr kind compliments & interest shown in my Wiki works all these while -- Aldwinteo 19:24, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dispute Resolution edit

Could I request that you refrain from editing Singapore Airlines before you have proposed making changes on the discussion page, and requesting comments on the proposals from other editors before further edits are made? At present, there are several editors who are reverting or overtyping the contributions of others without discussion, with the result that your investment of time and energy in this article is being negated. I recommend that you follow this suggestion, as you are currently at risk of involvement in an Edit war, which has the potential to undermine your credibility and stature as an editor. The points of dispute can be resolved, if you make the effort to work collaboratively. --Gavin Collins 16:02, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Singapore Airlines edit

OK -- I didn't realize the possible inconsistencies in regard to airlines vs. airline groups when I made the change last night. I'll definitely have to look into it before I make any more changes. But, for now, can I ask you not to follow up on Sparrowman980's talk page like that? It seems like you and Russavia have a long-standing issue here ... and I'm not sure trying to confront him on *that particular* talk page is a very productive idea at all, given the frequent archiving, misunderstandings, etc. -- RG2 15:15, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just out of curiosity -- what exactly is your view on the issue? Should I have included QantasLink and Jetstar and such? Or is it just Russavia's alleged inconsistency (between Qantas and SQ, apparently) that is getting to you? -- RG2 15:27, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and to follow up on the other point -- the problem is that I've seen you come in with comments like these, when it's clear that someone else has already brought up the issue, and your comment doesn't really do anything to help the situation. And then I saw your mistaken comment about archiving on Sparrowman980's page. (Personally, I could care less if he blanked his entire archive at this point -- it's still all clearly in the page history, if I really needed it.)
I think it's fine to butt in as a third party on someone else's page, if the circumstances make sense. But given Sparrowman980's overall behavior toward writing good articles ... what did you really expect to gain from that comment? You should have brought it to Russavia talk page, or even my talk page. -- RG2 15:36, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
What? It's certainly all related. It's obvious the majority of Sparrowman980's edits are disruptive, it's obvious that he frequently misreads others' comments, and it's obvious that he's usually not interested into opening up a comprehensible dialogue. So what will comments on his page gain anyone? Nothing. So relax. But, whatever, let's drop it. -- RG2 17:07, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please see User_talk:Russavia#Singapore_Airlines. I think the next step for this long-standing dispute is an RFC. I'd like to keep it centered around Singapore Airlines for now. We can use the findings to deal with articles like Aeroflot in the future, but I'd rather keep focused on the immediate issue at hand right now.

The comments there are largely meant for both of you. Let me know what you think of the RFC. Thanks. -- RG2 02:46, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question edit

With regards to Russavia once again taking a jab at Singapore Airlines, perhaps I should point out that he had an important part to play in turning that article into one on the Singapore Airlines Group, so I find it rather ironic that he is "condemning" that action now. He may wish to exercise some impartiality in his comments too. Largest_airlines#By_fleet_size_in_2007 clearly includes several entries which are for airline groups, including Lufthansa, SkyWest, Air France-KLM etc. Why do you disallow Qantas from doing the same, yet condone these entries by removing Qantas, while allowing these entries to remain?--Huaiwei 14:30, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Sry but i am extremley tired. Are you saying that if those can be on that why cant Qantas Group. Also Qantas Group is just Qantas unless i am confused.Sparrowman980 23:11, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging.
