White Bay Power Station image edit

Hi. Just wanted to say that is a fantastic picture of the White Bay Power Station administrative entrance you have taken and uploaded. I love the fact it's B&W which gives it an added dimension.

I am the author of most of the other WBPS pictures in Commons - my hope was to establish a point in time historical record of the site for the future. If you have other pictures, please consider uploading them to Commons too.

Keep up the good work. amitch (talk) 13:39, 15 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Thanks for the thanks for the mods I did to the NSW X class page. I did try to create the page myself some time ago but it got rejected. I still had the page in draft so I copied into your new page.

Thanks again for the good work. Shed Rat (talk) 01:16, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reversion of latest change to HMAS Leeuwin (A 245) edit

Hi I'm unclear why you reverted my edit on this ship's operational history? I's a notable fact in the ship's history, so It's relevant in the article. Hope yopu don't mind that I'll revert back. Kind regards, DPdH (talk) 04:42, 6 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Photos edit

Hi, I've just swapped back or replaced a few of the photos you've recently added (for instance to the HMAS Tobruk and HMS Daring articles. While it's great that you've donated these photos, I don't think that these images were superior to what was there before (for instance, in the Daring article we have lots of clear photos of the whole ship available on Commons, so there seems no need to use a photo showing only the bow of the ship). Regards, Nick-D (talk) 10:16, 7 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre Article edit

Good work on the article on Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre.

A few pointers/ questions. I thought that 3085 was also stored at Goulburn. Also I though that 3085 along with the two 59 class locos were only stored at Goulburn by the now defunct Office of Rail Heritage, and that formal custody of them hadn't been transferred to the group at Goulburn.

Also I know that the article is in its early stages, but you may want to mention a little on the actual facilities that are at Goulburn such as the number of roads in the roundhouse, turntable size, the machine shop (ex Wellington Loco) etc.

Keep up the good work. Shed Rat (talk) 21:38, 31 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Pacific National & UGL Rail C44aci Images edit

Can you please not reinstate the replacement images to the infoboxes of these articles. The image is over exposed and inferior to those replaced. If you disagree you will need to seek a consensus. Any further reversals will be in violation of WP:3RR. Mo7838 (talk) 01:20, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Centenary of Military Aviation 2014 Air Show for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Centenary of Military Aviation 2014 Air Show is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Centenary of Military Aviation 2014 Air Show until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. YSSYguy (talk) 10:46, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, just saw your message in my talk page. Will have a look a this matter if possible today. Regards, DPdH (talk) 10:09, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi again; please check the AfD page, I've provided some rationale for keeping the article. Also check my proposal in the article's talk page, and see if it's acceptable to you. Unless you address the concerns raised for those who support deletion, and improve the article, it may not survive until the Airshow happens. Regards, DPdH (talk) 11:36, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries edit

Hello, Thanks for adding those photos, but I'm not sure why you're adding them with edit summaries which suggest that you're tidying up the articles rather than adding images (eg Cleaned up using AutoEd Powerplant update when the only change you've made is to add a new image). I'd suggest using more specific edit summaries. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 07:51, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

That isn't a problem, but you should give permission (via OTRS) for Commons to use this sort of work as it is extremely similar to, if not the same as, images posted elsewhere with copyright notices, which is why this was tagged. When you upload images, be sure to put {{subst:OP}} in the permission box after you file an OTRS request. This will keep it from being deleted prematurely. On another note, when you upload pictures of people and the subjects are identifiable and still alive you should also include the {{Personality rights}} template in the summary section. Thank you, The Haz talk 06:45, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I have applied to OTRS

How can I add {{subst:OP}} if the file has been deleted and I cant upload the same photograph ? Hpeterswald (talk)

Request the user that deleted it to restore it. You can't request OTRS for it until it is restored anyway. The Haz talk 08:31, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

You requested speedy deletion because the image was identified as copyright Getty images. However, I do not see why you thought that. The photographer claims it is not true. I've accepted the photographer's word. Do you disagree?--Sphilbrick (talk) 21:45, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I would like to add that it is not true that permission via OTRS needs a restore in advance. Many members of the OTRS team (like Sphilbrick and myself) are also administrator at Commons. When we receive a valid permission, we can restore a file and tag it as confirmed. Jcb (talk) 21:58, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Just going by what I was told in the past. Since you say it's incorrect, it's incorrect. Also, I wrote that the image was available from Getty images because they list ones that are virtually identical (the photographers were all standing together). There were also similar copyvio images uploaded by other users at the same time. However, this user has since noted that he was in the same location and that they are his photographs for which he submitted an OTRS to clear up any confusion in the future. Simple mistake for which I apologize. The Haz talk 00:04, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok, no problem. Jcb (talk) 17:29, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
