Edit reversions edit

If you take a look at the history of If_You_Leave_Me_Now, you'll see that a person with very similar IP addresses continues to insert the same editorial content into the posting. It's definitely not vandalism, but it doesn't belong and is annoying nonetheless. Ideas for what to do? It's not a registered user. --Cholmes75 13:02, 21 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

The reversion you performed was undone once again by someone from the same domain. I reverted that. I'm sure this would continue indefinitely, so any ideas? --Cholmes75 16:50, 21 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Barnstars edit

Thank you for trying to explain how to put a barnstar on someone's page, but it didn't work. Please explain exactly how I am supposed for reference the barnstar. Am I supposed to copy the graphic itself, or a link to it, or what?

In particular, if I want to put the workingman's barnstar on someone's user page, how do I do that?

anagrams edit

Hi - I saw your anagram question on user:Theresa Knott's talk page. There are numerous anagram generators on the web, for example this one (but many of the suggestions aren't very sensible). -- Rick Block (talk) 04:07, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

thanks for supporting me edit

Hello, just a quick note to express my gratitude for your support of my RfA. I'm sure I'll become a familiar face on places like the Administrator's Noticeboard and Requests for Adminship, as well as the murkier parts of my new job. "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." (Luke 12:48, NIV) Never was a truer word spoken. I feel empowered, yes, but not in the "oooh cool delete button!" way I was kind of expecting. Already I feel the weight of the responsibility I have now been entrusted with, a weight that will no doubt reduce given time. Thank you for believing in me. :) GarrettTalk 10:09, 22 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Don't feel bad about it, it costs most people several months and several thousands of edits, but good people are always eventually nominated. Yours, Radiant_>|< 15:22, July 22, 2005 (UTC)

Same here. My opposition is more out of concern that you're grabbing for the ring of adminship for the sake of having it. Convince one of my peers to nominate you and I'll support quite willingly. Kelly Martin 00:50, July 23, 2005 (UTC)

Post edit

I'm so sorry I didn't help support you. I haven't been on in a while, and didn't realize it. Next time I'll definitly help you. You would make a great adminastrator. Radiant >|< is right. By the way, I was wondering, how many edits have you made? Plus, check this out- "Weird Al" Yankovic.--Anti-Anonymex2]]Come to my page!>|Vote on my RfA! 20:43, 22 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Response edit

My name doesn't lead to Mel Etitis's page(I'm not saying this like I'm angry). Did you mean it looks like it? I was trying to make it look like it.--Anti-Anonymex2Come to my page! 20:56, 22 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thank You + ? edit

Thanks, now I understand. And, I was wondering, what is a Wikifriend?--Anti-Anonymex2Come to my page! 21:36, 22 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

You Know Who edit

How do you get on the list of new pages? And I've got good news. I've nominated you!--Anti-Anonymex2Come to my page! I've gone caliente loco! 01:00, 23 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Response II edit

I don't mean to sound rude or stupid, but the link to what? Where is the link?--Anti-Anonymex2Come to my page! I've gone caliente loco! 01:18, 23 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Username from email edit

Thanks for the reply. It does indeed show me the username they are from. Then I've been emailed by some people who have never edited an article or created a userpage. Thanks. DJ Clayworth 04:01, 23 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Bureaucrat edit

The header on RFA gave me the impression bureaucrats aren't chosen through nominations by others, but by self-nominations. I'd certainly accept, but only after knowing for sure people want a few new bureaucrats otherwise, I prefer to wait it out. (There's been no new bureaucrats since last year). -- Mgm|(talk) 17:34, July 23, 2005 (UTC)

  • Either way, thanks a lot for thinking of nominating me. - Mgm|(talk) 18:10, July 23, 2005 (UTC)

Adminship edit

Thank you for your nomination! But what are some of the responsabilities related to the position? I've been around for a while, and I still don't know all the ropes of the place. --Madchester 23:25, July 23, 2005 (UTC)

CSS skin edit

To "get it" just copy it from my User:Stevertigo/monobook.css to yours. User:Stevertigo/monobook.js is part of the package too. Note - there are a couple of bugs, which I havent bothered to deal with yet - shows black text on black for certain message boxes, white backgrounds on tabs and navigation bar (I dont like), and the logo doesnt seem to want to show up - .js issue maybe. Havent bothered to mess with it for a while, so if you make any changes, pls do drop me a note. Sinreg -SV|t 17:36, 24 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Its automatically protected from anyone but sysops, who arent likely to mess with it. Sinreg-SV|t 18:35, 24 July 2005 (UTC)Reply
Yep, thats it. -SV|t 05:48, 25 July 2005 (UTC)Reply
FYI: Ive updated my css, and will be doing more edits this week. -SV|t 16:34, 25 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Adminship II edit

I set everything up the way you told me to. You are a nominee. You might want to get started on the rest of the adminship page. You know, approving your nomination, answering the questions, making sockpuppets to vote with(that one is a joke of course). I've got a secret to tell you when you become adminastrator about my former user names.--Anti-Anonymex2Come to my page! I've gone caliente loco! 20:59, 24 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Your (third) RFA edit

Hiya, might I suggest holding out for a month or so before accepting or self-nominating for adminship. Your 2nd RFA finished just a couple of days ago and I don't think anything significant has changed in 2 days which is likely to cause a change of heart for people who opposed your nomination that time around. If anything, people may oppose because they think you are being too desperate by accepting a nomination just a couple of days after the previous one! It is admirable that you wish to become an admin - but there is absolutely no hurry; people are judged on their contributions to Wikipedia rather than whether or not they are an admin. Talrias (t | e | c) 21:15, 24 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Sorry to hear you're third try (Isn't third time supposed to be the charm?) didn't go well. Give it a couple months, get your edits up over 2000, and come see me; I'll nominate you. -- Essjay · Talk 22:34, July 24, 2005 (UTC)

Major Apology edit

I am so sorry I nominated you so soon. I've caused so much trouble to you.): I didn't realize it would do this. It caused Kelly Martin to think that you put me up to nominating you. I haven't been to the Wikighetto, so I didn't know how dark Wikipedia could be. Next time, I'll just vote for you. Please respond.--Anti-Anonymex2Come to my page! I've gone caliente loco! 01:53, 25 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

I just wanted to thank you for reverting those vandilism edits on my user page. I would've thanked you earlier, but... Well, I didn't even notice anything had changed until today! But as long as there's people like you watching out for vandals, the wiki-World is a better place. --Zeromaru 23:24, 26 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Sango's RfA edit

1.5 cupcakes for you!

Hi, Howabout1. Thanks for supporting my RfA! I will try my best to demonstrate that your praise was well-placed and wield the mop responsibly. Sango123 01:19, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

Thank you! edit

Speaking of moving, how do you get rid of double-redirect pages?

Cut and Paste edit

Hi Howabout1,

I saw your reply to Doc_glasgow at the help desk, and just thought I'd mention that I refined your answer a bit. In order to comply fully with the GFDL, we have to track authorship for each article and not just Wikipedia as a whole. Consequently, we can't just copy and paste text from one article to another without properly attributing the sources. Generally, it's considered acceptable to add a note about the source to the edit summary ("Transferred text from foo") and/or the talk page. Cheers! TenOfAllTrades(talk) 01:42, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

No harm done, and now you know. :) TenOfAllTrades(talk) 01:54, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Banstar edit

Thank you for the banstar. But I din't turn Avatar World into a wikcity. Someone else did! In fact, last time I check, it didn't have any articals yet! --Wack'd About Wiki 02:31, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

could you please help with another user? edit

Hi. I have to reason to believe the user freestylefrappe has been adding irrelevant and mistranslated content into the article qiyamah After lengthy a few lengthy threads in the article's talk page, and my user's talk page, he seems to have stopped reverting my deletions, but he continues to flamebait me. I've made a brief report on the Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress but i've had no replies. I've decided to stop replying to the user even if he restores his earlier edits. He's charging me with insulting him and another user, and is quoting earlier edits of mine from our discussion threads which I had deleted and replaced with final more restrained versions of my replies. None of this is what i come to wikipedia for, and I'd like to resolve this continuing interaction, so I can get on with the actual editing and augmentation of my articles' content. Thank you and regards --Universaliss 02:53, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your reply edit

Thank you for your swift reply. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I had thought you were an administrator because the questions page I saw your signature in some of the replies to the questions posted. Now I feel a bit like an idiot, with your reply on my page :) Thanks all the same, and sorry again. Cheers. --Universaliss 03:07, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

User:Wikipedia Username/Facist Beating edit

Thanks for the pointer on this. I'd love to know what a Facist is... Cheers, [[smoddy]] 09:32, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Monkeys and spam edit

Thanks for the monkey; I'll have to get a bigger apartment to house it. I don't have any plans to revert your reversion, but you might take another look at the links. They point to a pay-to-play fantasy football site, and 65.115.11.2 (contributions) linked that site in almost 50 80 articles. Joyous (talk) 16:42, July 29, 2005 (UTC)

How about compromise? You don't revert the ones I've already done, and I won't go back and revert the ones I haven't gotten to yet? Joyous (talk) 16:48, July 29, 2005 (UTC)

Sockpuppets edit

You may be right. That, or friends goofing around together. I think they'll get bored and move on in a while. Joyous (talk)

Queston! edit

How do you get those cool language bars that say: This wikipedian is a native speaker of English? --C18 14:42, 30 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Canderson7's RFA edit

Thanks for supporting my RFA, I really appreciate it! --Canderson7 16:41, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

Huh? edit

Vandilism? You mean that time I changed "overview of my asshole" to "Overview" on the RuneScape page? --Wack'd About Wiki 14:30, 31 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

OH! Yes, I'd love to contribute, I'll look into it but right now I'm just looking for media-related articals that I may be able to improve. I'm really good at that sort of thing. --Wack'd About Wiki 13:41, 1 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Humblefool edit

Yes, it was a typo, which I think I corrected in a followup edit summary. -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 20:38, 31 July 2005 (UTC)Reply
