edit

Please don't change the image in the infobox again without first discussing on the article's talk page. There is no need for the change, and your edits are point pushing against our WP:NPOV policy. Thanks, matt (talk) 11:32, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am curious to know why you said "There is no need for the change" rather than "If there is need for a change then discuss it with others".Horza1972 (talk) 20:42, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Exeter. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  1. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:45, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ghmyrtle. No idea if you'll read this, but neither you or Simple Bob have decided to continue our discussion on the profile photo for Exeter, despite the fact that you both acknowledged that you were open to the possibility of changing the images shown. I have lodged a file with the Mediation Cabal and hopefully they will be able to assist in resolving the issue. The file can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2011-08-02/ExeterHorza1972 (talk) 20:42, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please, don't be too hasty. You are new here. Discussions on matters like this often take some time - weeks and months, not hours or days. It would be best to wait for other interested editors to become involved. If you continue to press your point in this way, I suspect that you will be disappointed in the eventual outcome. The best thing for you to do would be to prepare a balanced montage - say, the Cathedral, riverside, High Street, and one or two more, and see what reactions are to that. So long as the overall approach is balanced and the photos are of a good technical quality, you would have a chance of having it accepted. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:51, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK, thank you for the reply. Everyone just seemed to disappear mid-way through the discussion. I will prepare something new which will hopefully provide a balance between fantasy and reality.Horza1972 (talk) 21:15, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
