Sorry, you are right about bludgeoning. I find it very frustrating that editors are not concerned about a gap between evidence shown and claims made against a BLP. Few are actually arguing the point and when one who says "support" has an antifa support banner on their user page I think that is a bit much. When asking a logical cause and effect type question it's disappointing to see appeal to authority type answers (BC is green so this must be OK, BC actually was referring to evidence they didn't present, etc). @Springee: Always happy to poke a gentile. You made your argument well the first time, its definitely in the grey area. Personally I’m in a corner here because I’ve previously argued that Bellingcat can be used for BLP statements about Russian intelligence activities in Europe with the same level of opacity between evidence and conclusion, I don’t really see this being much different besides for the fact thats its some petty domestic political dispute. I understand your concern, its definitely interesting that a user with an antifa support banner on their user page chimes in but I’m just not sure its appropriate or necessary to note that in conversation.
