Ostrich edit

Howdy - please don't add this material to Ostrich. This is all covered on great depth at the species page, Common ostrich; there is no need to duplicate it here. Ostrich is the genus page, intended to cover material that pertains to ostriches in general and is not already dealt with in other locations. Hello there,

I'm sorry if I have added an unnecessary edit to this page. I was doing this as an assignment for a college course, and I have put in the effort to edit such information. It would have been so nice of you to ask me to take it off the page myself, and I would have done it so politely...

No harm done; the structure of these articles is often not immediately obvious. Generally the higher taxon levels (genus +) only treat material that can equally be applied to every lower taxon included (here, species), and that is obviously not the case here. If you find more information that does fit the scope and is not covered by species, by all means do add it. - Regarding reversion of your edits by someone else, it is a fact of life on Wikipedia and not considered "impolite" in any way; it's a standard component of the cooperative editing process (see WP:BRD). All your edits are still present, if you want them, in the article's history. Cheers --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 17:14, 15 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
