Regarding edits made to Bear Bryant

edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Holle012! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule img[0-9]*\.imageshack\.us/img[0-9]*/.*\.jpg, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 23:41, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

1979 Sugar Bowl

edit

Hi! I noticed that earlier this month you created a page called 1979 Sugar Bowl. The reason I noticed is that it's on a list of orphaned pages, because no other pages in wikipedia link to it. I'm not an expert on this subject, but do you think we could work a reference to this Sugar Bowl into the Bear Bryant page, or might it be better to reference it on one of the team pages?

Also, I think the article may need to be slightly revised to better conform to Wikipedia's policy on Neutral Point of View. Right now, it reads like a chapter in a biography or something, instead of an informational article in an encyclopedia.

Also (sorry I have such a laundry list! :) there are currently no sources listed on the page, and combined with the style it's written in, that smacks of "Original Research." Do you have any sources you could add?

Thanks for all your help. Carolfrog 02:44, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:1996-10-23gn.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:1996-10-23gn.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --ARTEST4ECHO talk 18:33, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
