Autobiographies

edit

Writing or editing your own autobiography is strongly discouraged. See Wikipedia:Autobiography. This is because you would have a wp:conflict of interest (COI). As you probably want your article to look good, that would conflict with Wikipedia's wp:Five pillars, specifically wp:neutral point of view (NPOV). The removal of your Libya national basketball team would be an example of COI / NPOV. (I find that a fascinating bit of history and in no way hold it against you). That fact would be of interest to others and should be included in the article. So, I restored it with citations. Jim1138 (talk) 19:24, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Need for more citations

edit

A number of sections are completely missing any citations. Per wp:Biographies of living persons (BLP), specifically WP:BLPSOURCES - unsourced information may be removed.

I added a citation to http://www.alfredshouse.com/base/about-randy-holcomb BTW: I notice there is no obvious path to your bio from http://www.alfredshouse.com. I did a google search to find it.

Wikipedia needs to be wp:verifiable, especially BLPs. As most anyone can edit, sources of information should be added to significant edits so that people can verify that information. Also, people often want to find out more about a topic. Please wp:cite wp:reliable sources. Sources that anyone can edit (including Wikipedia!) such as blogs, IMDB, personal websites where the writer does not have a stake in their reputation should be avoided. See WP:NOTRELIABLE.

Requesting an edit to Randy Holcomb article

edit

As you are the subject of the article Randy Holcomb, you have a conflict of interest with Wikipedia's wp:goals and wp:policies. You should not directly edit this article. Please make an wp:edit request on the page talk:Randy Holcomb.

If there is information on Randy Holcomb which is derogatory or wp:Libelous, please remove it, but leave an wp:edit summary explaining why you removed it. You can also use wp:oversight to have information permanently blanked.

Please see wp:biographies of living persons about what content should and should not be included.

Removal because "Randy Holcomb doesn't want it there" is not grounds for removal. This website belongs to the Wikimedia Foundation not Randy Holcomb. See Wikipedia:Ownership of content Jim1138 (talk) 08:17, 13 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
