Minority Group article evaluation

  1. REDIRECT Minority group

The first and most bothersome issue that I noticed in this article was the incorrect/ complicated use of wording and grammar. Nearly every sentence is unclear, has a spelling error, or is missing punctuation, etc. There are also certain points in the article that seem to be opinionated or lacking accuracy or credibility. For example, the author used phrases such as... "Immigrants take on minority status in their new country, usually in hopes of a better future economically, educationally, and politically than in their homeland." [1] , "Cultural diversity definitions can be as controversial as diversity projects and initiatives." [2] , and, "One of the most controversial minorities in the United States and other countries has been communists." [3] Additionally, the article covers the different categories of minority groups and includes various examples of minorities and subgroups, but some parts of it lack flow and sway a little off-topic. Any of the examples or quotes are sourced or redirected, and all of the links that I tried worked and directed me to the correct coordinating page. Further, the article's talk page mentions some use of plagiarism, as well as the authors' possible assumption that a minority group is defined as those who are being discriminated against, which is incorrect. Overall, the article is a good baseline for info on minority groups, but it is not highly rated (start-class) and is complicated to read due to the multiple misuses of grammar and spelling.
