Revenuegateway

edit

A tag has been placed on Revenuegateway, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. If you can indicate why Revenuegateway is really not blatant advertising, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Revenuegateway. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11 under General criteria. You might also want to read the guidelines on spam. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert why the article is not blatant advertising, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. Fan-1967 17:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Has EuroRevenue been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works? Are there sources for the content in the article other than the company's own website/publications? -- Steel 14:00, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to re-upload the logo (just remember to provide a link to a page it's on, the company's website will do) and move it back to the original location. Ideally each individual point in the article should have a source, and it's still full of technical jargon and irrelevant information ("Each affiliate partner is assigned a unique descriptor, which allows the company to accurately track traffic sources and pay commissions to the referring webmaster for individual sales", for example) which ought to be removed. The vast majority of company articles are very short (EACA, for example) and to be honest that's all that EuroRevenue's article is likely to end up as. -- Steel 01:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

EuroRevenue

edit

The site must have been the subject of multiple, non-trivial works from subjects that are themselves notable, reliable, and independent of the subject. Articles lacking those can be deleted based on non-notability. PMC 21:16, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • The last one doesn't qualify, since EuroRevenue is only briefly mentioned as the sponsor, and isn't the main focus of the article. On the other hand, you're right about the rest, and I apologize. I do think the article needs to be re-written somewhat. It feels very bare-bones at present, mainly talking about their business practices and content policies, and how they help other adult sites make money. That makes it feel rather ad-like, at least to me. It lacks background information such as: when was it founded? Where? By whom? Is there a clever story behind the company forming? Who runs the show now? etc, etc. How about this: I'll re-post the content of the last deleted version on a subpage of yours (at User:Hmoss/EuroRevenue, for example). This allows you to edit the article as you please, without a risk of it being speedy deleted again. When you're ready, and the article's been fleshed out some more, we can move it back out to the mainspace at EuroRevenue. Sound okay? PMC 17:23, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
