Since they did merge the teams while before it was not the case... it seems interesting this is mentioned somewhere rather than just update it and remove the "historical" info?Garnhami (talk) 13:32, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

- This is what you deleted: in 2005 England, along with the basketballscotland and their counterparts in Wales combined forces to form the Great Britain national basketball team, with the target goal to field a competitive team capable of winning medals at the London 2012 summer Olympics. England's direct affiliation to FIBA will end on 30 September 2016 as they will be joining Scotland and Northern Ireland to form a Permanent Great Britain Side, while Wales will remain independent.
SO I would leave this there in a maybe changed setting, something to let the people know that in 2005 the England, Scottish and Wales team joined each other to form a stronger team for the 2012 olympics? And that England has no direct affiliation with FIBA anymore from 30 september 2016 as they will form with Scotland and Norther Ireland a team but that Wales remains independent. I think it is a rather interesting historical (sport) fact. And it might be in general also interesting to read something about it because people are always confused about "England" being just "England" or also Wales and Scotland or...
