License tagging for Image:Srch1.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Srch1.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned non-free image (Image:LC logo.pdf)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:LC logo.pdf. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:50, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Former Golf Major Championship Pages

edit

Ben, great job creating the 2005 and 2006 PGA Championship articles. There is a new PGA Championships template for easy navigation. I'm all for creating a page for each major championship dating back to the 1860 Open Championship. Keep up the good work! :) Supertigerman 01:52, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Another infobox needs to be created for individual tournaments. The template currently being used was originally designed for main tournament pages, and works well for those. Some things to add to the new infobox would be the dates that the tournament took place, removal of the "defunct" field, and the winner's prize money. I'm sure you'd agree that not having the winner of the tournament in the infobox is rather sad. What other ideas do you have for a new infobox? Supertigerman 22:51, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Template

edit

Excellent so far; the color scheme is nice - sticking to the light blue of the golf tournament infobox. A couple of additions that I think would enhance it are the "Winner's share" (under the purse) and "Score" under the "Tournament Champion" heading and below the winner's name. Supertigerman 16:40, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I updated it, but am not sure about the Score location. Currently it is directly beneath the name. Should it have its own heading? Supertigerman 17:01, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't think a runners up field would be helpful because some majors have up to 4 runners up, which would clutter up the infobox unnecessarily. I'm still not positive about the "Score" location. Perhaps it should be to the right of the winner's name and not below it? Supertigerman 01:00, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Little context in Template:24 season 1 episodes

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Template:24 season 1 episodes, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Template:24 season 1 episodes is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Template:24 season 1 episodes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. WikiProject Golf

edit

Hi Hietanbs
I thought that a way to further improve the golf articles on Wikipedia is for the whole project to work together towards a goal. An example of this could be a certain number of good articles in so many months, or to create the project's first ever featured article. If you are interested, come to the talk page and discuss it. And hopefully through this the project can continue to work towards several goals in the near future. Grover 10:07, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

2011 The Players Championship

I strongly believe this tournament doesn't deserve but in any case, if you're going to start one, you should make sure the article has right information. The 3rd round scores are all wrong.- William 20:05, 17 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

We need to come up with one standard to use for the rounds and the past champions, so if you want it to be the hypenated way, then we have to correct the past champions or vice versa.SaysWhoWhatWhenWhereWhyHow? (talk) 03:34, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
