January 2017 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  MER-C 02:29, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

the block is no longer necessary. After reviewing the guidelines I see that the copy I inserted could be understood as promotional. There were many descriptive words. The brand recently went through a new brand launch and I was updating based on the press release, which is now understand not for Wikipedia purposes. I don’t want this issue to affect other using this IP address at the Royal Caribbean corporate office. I can assure you this will not happen again. I will give the Wikipedia right up and give to another user to make the updates after I share my experience to assure no promotional working is added to the page. Please accept this and allow for my user and IP address to be unblocked. Thank youHf126376 (talk) 15:21, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Decline for now, because it's not clear you have read and understood WP:COI and WP:PROMO. If we unblocked you, would you and the other users at Royal Caribbean agree to avoid editing all articles for which you have a conflict of interest? For example, would you agree to refrain from editing Azamara Club Cruises? What sorts of articles would you edit instead? Yamla (talk) 15:33, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I would not edit anything any longer. I spoke with the Director and we are handing all Wiki edits to the PR agency. The content on the page does need to be updated, but we will not be handling it in house. I can assure you no one form the RCL corp office will be editing the page. I just don’t want the IP address blocked. Hf126376 (talk) 15:50, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Note that the PR agency must disclose that they are being paid, as per WP:COI. In general, it's inappropriate to pay a PR agency to edit on your behalf. --Yamla (talk) 16:58, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

to be honest I am not familiar with the pay structure. If they cannot edit on our behalf, then the edits will have to come from internal. In this event we would request the content to be drafted by them and I will have the director post any changes. The issues with the page are that the information currently posted is incorrect and needs to be updated. The guest count is wrong, the VP of sales is now the CEO of another cruise line and there are additional edits that need to be updated with new 2016 modifications. You can block me, just need to have the IP address unblocked so someone from the corporation, or on behalf of the corporation, can make these changes. Please let me know how I should proceed to have them updated. Hf126376 (talk) 17:08, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

(1) It is perfectly clear from all of your unblock requests that your intention is to continue to use Wikipedia to publish publicity material on behalf of your business, which is unacceptable, whether it is done by you, by someone else working within your company, or by a PR agency working on behalf of your company. You have repeatedly been pointed to WP:COI and WP:PROMO. Which bits are you having a hard time understanding? We're very happy to answer any questions you have. --Yamla (talk) 17:17, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
