Swedish Hockey League
Please stop changing historical statistics to reflect the new name change for the premier Swedish ice hockey league. 2013-14 will be the first season under the new league name "Swedish Hockey League" (SHL). Up to and including 2012-13, the league was know as "Elitserien" (SEL). To change historical statistics from Elitserien and SEL to Swedish Hockey League and SHL is inaccurate and not helpful to the Wikipedia project. Cheers! Dolovis (talk) 16:25, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- The league is currently named "Swedish Hockey League". I think it'd be worth raising the issue regarding historical stats at WT:HOCKEY – whether all instances of "SEL" should be changed to "SHL", or whether we should treat SHL statistics separately. - BTW, I've tagged the 2014–15 SHL season article for speedy deletion. Nothing is known about this season (yet), and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. This season hasn't even been announced/acknowledged yet. Best regards, HeyMid (contribs) 17:03, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- "Crystal Ball" is not a valid reason for a speedy deletion. This article is needed as league business always runs ahead of the current season. For now, a redirect might be the proper compromise. Dolovis (talk) 17:32, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Dolovis, you're wrong in that regard. WP:CRYSTAL is a perfect reason to delete an article. If you read through the first point of WP:CRYSTAL, it states: "If preparation for the event is not already in progress, speculation about it must be well documented." There is no speculation available for the 2014–15 season, and nobody has been talking about this season either. For now, the season is too far ahead in time to be worthy of an article due to said concerns. You may start an article for the 2014–15 NHL season if you want to, but I think it would be redirected. Change oppose to support
Hello.
Maybe you should strikethrough your oppose comments, and change them to support, under the "Johan Andersson" and "Steve Smith" headings in Talk:Hans Johan Andersson#Requested move 2, or it could be misunderstood by the closing person.
