June 2016 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Drmies (talk) 15:06, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

no longer necessary, I understand why I have been blocked

Decline reason:

Great. Can you explain it to us, so we can be sure you are correct? Additionally, can you tell us how your editing would be different if we unblocked you? Would you continue editing the same articles? How would your editing change? What other articles would you edit? Yamla (talk) 16:01, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Also, Wikipedia does not allow usernames that appear to represent companies or organizations, only ones that represent individuals, so you'll need to choose another one. So for your next unblock request, please post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use (with your explanation where it says "Your reason here"). • Let me add that the editing done here was promotional, and anyone who knows how to use Google can get here real quick. So besides the name, there's WP:PAY to consider, which now comes with a set of requirements. Drmies (talk) 17:38, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I did not correctly reference whilst editing but I now understand I must always reference correctly HessoMediaHQ (talk) 16:11, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Firstly, you need to change your username to a name that is unconnected to any organisation or product, so for your next unblock request you should use the text:
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}

Secondly, I am unconvinced that you should be editing articles where you have a significant conflict of interest.PhilKnight (talk) 23:24, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • "I now understand I must always reference correctly" This is very definitely not the central issue with your account. --Yamla (talk) 19:32, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I did not realise that using a username linked to a company would be in violation of conflict of interest and notability guidelines. I have requested for the username to be changed. Thank you. HessoMediaHQ (talk) 10:13, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

The username you have chosen is too similar to the existing global account User:Tompoole, so please choose another one. There are other problems with your apparent understanding of your block, and I'll explain below shortly. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:28, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • You say that you did not realise that "using a username linked to a company would be in violation of conflict of interest and notability guidelines", but that's actually confusing two distinct issues. Your username is in violation of username policy, which disallows names which appear to represent companies, groups or organizations. It is your editing that is in conflict with Wikipedia's policies on notability and conflict of interest, and you have not addressed that - as Yamla pointed out, your previous explanation is "very definitely not the central issue with your account", and you have not responded to that. Please read and understand Wikipedia's notability and conflict of interest guidelines (see WP:N and WP:COI), and please be sure to address both concerns in your next unblock request, paying particular attention to explaining how your editing will be different if you are unblocked. Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand that before engaging in a major edit, a user should discuss proposed changes on the article discussion/talk page. The edit should be reviewed to confirm that it is consensual to all concerned editors. The information put forward must be verifiable with a reliable third-party source on the topic

Decline reason:

This is going around in circles. I'm not sure if you are wilfully ignoring your inappropriately promotional edits, or if you just don't get it. Either way, there's no point letting you continue to post new unblock requests as it is just wasting everyone's time. Talk page access revoked. Yamla (talk) 11:54, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
